Coterie, the brand best known for its soft diapers that are free from many common irritants, just launched a new baby skincare line with a trio of gentle products for littles. The collection includes a head and body wash, a lightweight moisturizer and a protective barrier cream—all formulated to help prevent issues for sensitive and eczema-prone baby skin. All three products carry the National Eczema Association’s Seal of Acceptance and are vegan and petroleum free.
“The inspiration was to create highly effective, ultra-clean skincare formulations with the same high safety standards that families trust us to uphold,” says Coterie CEO Jess Jacobs. Backed by over two years of research and development, the brand’s skincare line reflects the same attention to quality and detail that made their diapers our top pick for newborns.
Forbes Vetted baby and kids deputy editor, Rose Gordon Sala, had the opportunity to preview the line and found that the Coterie Bun Balm nixed an eczema spot on her child in record time. The new line includes three products: First Wash, Soft Cream and Bun Balm. You can purchase each item individually directly from Coterie, subscribe for regular deliveries or opt for a bundle—either The Skin Essentials full-size set or The Minis travel-size trio. Here’s a closer look at each item in the line and what they’re designed to do.
Coterie’s Take On Baby Skincare
“Historically, babies’ skin issues have been treated reactively. We wanted to flip that and formulate a skincare routine centered around prevention,” says Jacobs. Pediatrician Dr. Mona Amin, founder of PedsDocTalk and a member of Coterie’s Council, explains that the line was tested before and after use to ensure that it doesn’t disrupt the good bacteria on babies’ skin.
“What excites me most is that this line doesn’t just promise to be gentle, it proves it supports babies’ skin at the biological level. By showing that these products preserve the skin’s microbiome—the community of good bacteria that keep the barrier strong—Coterie is doing something most baby skincare brands don’t even measure," says Amin.
The new skincare line is currently available exclusively at Coterie.
