The Power of Flight

About us

CFM International (CFM) is a 50/50 joint company of Safran Aircraft Engines of France and GE Aerospace of the United States. The company is the world’s leading supplier of commercial aircraft engines, delivering to date more than 42,000 of its engines. In 2008, the GE and Safran Aircraft Engines signed an agreement to extend the 50/50 joint-partnership to the year 2040. At the same time, CFM launched the revolutionary LEAP engine program, a new product line to power future generations of single-aisle aircraft. CFM's LEAP engine is the sole powerplant for the re-engined Boeing 737 MAX and China's COMAC C919, and is one of two engine options on the re-engined Airbus A320neo. On June 14, 2021, GE and Safran Aircraft Engines officially launched the CFM RISE (Revolutionary Innovation for Sustainable Engines) Program as a manifestation of their deep commitment for achieving aggressive goals for a sustainable future, including reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by more than 20 percent. The current CFM56 engine family powers the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 aircraft families for nearly 600 operators around the globe and serves as the industry standard for reliability and low cost of ownership in the single-aisle (100-200 passengers) market segment. ---- Looking to join CFM?
