We're committed to solving intelligence, to advance science and benefit humanity.

About us

We’re a team of scientists, engineers, machine learning experts and more, working together to advance the state of the art in artificial intelligence. We use our technologies for widespread public benefit and scientific discovery, and collaborate with others on critical challenges, ensuring safety and ethics are the highest priority. Our long term aim is to solve intelligence, developing more general and capable problem-solving systems, known as artificial general intelligence (AGI). Guided by safety and ethics, this invention could help society find answers to some of the world’s most pressing and fundamental scientific challenges. We have a track record of breakthroughs in fundamental AI research, published in journals like Nature, Science, and more. Our programs have learned to diagnose eye diseases as effectively as the world’s top doctors, to save 30% of the energy used to keep data centres cool, and to predict the complex 3D shapes of proteins - which could one day transform how drugs are invented.

  • We’re rolling out Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash. Here’s what this means for creators, developers, and enterprises: 🎬 Precise creative control: extend scenes, smoothly connect your first and last frames, use up to 3 second video references, and test ideas quickly at low-cost in 360p. 🎥 Production-level polish: built-in 1080p or 4K upscaling for a smoother, more natural cinematic feel. Here’s how you can try it in Google Flow, build with it in the Gemini API and more → https://goo.gle/46pZ7IF

Always a bit surreal to see your face on a list like the #TIME100AI. Building technology this transformative is an extraordinary scientific feat - and making sure it serves people in the real world is an even bigger human effort. No one company or individual builds this future alone. Looking across this list, I see so many peers, mentors, friends & fellow travellers I admire, working to meet this AI moment with responsibility & care. If we get this right, AI could be the most beneficial technology we’ve ever seen. But it has to happen with people, not to them. Onwards! TIME https://lnkd.in/e4YyyGGf

From weather forecasting to robotics, intelligent problem-solving relies on understanding the unknown. 🧠 Our VP Research Zoubin Ghahramani explores with Hannah Fry why teaching systems self-doubt and probability can lead to safer, more reliable real-world decision-making. ↓

  • Gemini 3.5 Transcribe is our latest speech-to-text model for precise and intelligent transcriptions. Here’s what’s new: 🔵 It’s better at understanding complex phone numbers, postal codes, and order IDs – even in noisy environments. 🔵 It can remove filler words and auto-format your text. 🔵 It recognizes custom vocabulary so the model knows unique names and product titles. 🔵 It automatically detects and transcribes speech in 85+ languages. Try it now in the Gemini app on macOS and Gboard on Android. Developers can start building in Google AI Studio and Antigravity → https://goo.gle/4zGpkQu

  • Games have been an important testbed for our AI research for over 15 years. 🎮 From mastering Atari to reaching Grandmaster in StarCraft II, they have driven some of our biggest AI breakthroughs. Our work with SIMA taught agents how to understand 3D worlds, but learning to navigate real human dynamics takes a living, persistent universe. Through our research partnership with Fenris Creations, we’re exploring how to tackle open challenges in AI: 🔵 Continual learning to acquire new skills without forgetting past knowledge.  🔵 Deep memory systems that store and retrieve information far beyond today’s context windows. 🔵 Long-horizon planning over weeks, months, or years. 🔵 Multi-agent dynamics spanning cooperation, negotiation, economics, and emergent behaviors. Our long-term goal is to use AI to discover entirely new gameplay experiences in partnership with game developers – making games more accessible and personalized – while applying what we've learned to problems in the real world and scientific discovery. • A graphic featuring the Google DeepMind logo and the text "From Atari to EVE Online: Building on 15 years of game AI research." To the right of the text, a grid illustrates the company's progress through four major gaming milestones: Atari, Go, StarCraft II, and EVE Online.
  • Teamwork makes the dream work - even in robotics. 🤖🤝 To test multi-robot orchestration with Gemini Robotics 2, we challenged Apptronik’s Apollo humanoid and Franka Duo to tidy a messy garage. Apollo uses whole-body mobility to gather items and place them on high shelves, then hands off control to Duo to perform precise tool organization. Watch them in action ↓

  • To be genuinely useful in human spaces, robots need the fine motor control we take for granted. 🤖 Gemini Robotics 2 enables diverse robotic platforms to master delicate manipulation - from packing and sealing a flexible Ziploc bag, to unscrewing a lightbulb, and using multi-fingered hands to tie off a trash bag. ↓

  • Gemini 3.7 Flash is here. It’s stronger for coding, knowledge work, and web development. 🔵 It shows strong gains over 3.6 Flash in key coding tasks like debugging and issue resolution. 🔵 It’s better at designing more functional web layouts and apps using fewer prompts. 🔵 It delivers improved reasoning and accuracy when completing real-world business workflows. Developers can try it now in Google Antigravity, with API access in Google AI Studio and Android Studio. Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers can use 3.7 Flash in Gemini Spark in the Gemini app. Find out more → https://goo.gle/4g7mpaK

  • We’re launching SL2T: our new sign language-to-text model - and it’s coming to Android. Starting with American Sign Language-to-English on Pixel 11, people can sign directly into Gboard and Live Transcribe instead of typing. The system is the most capable sign language translation model ever, and optimized for real-world usability, such as one-handed signing. We built SL2T with the Deaf community - guided by Deaf Googlers, and our AI Sign Language Advisory Committee. Bringing ASL input to phones is just the beginning and we’re working to expand this technology to more languages and devices soon → https://goo.gle/45WnOfy
