I've waited many years for this moment: today, Zoox has officially launched its service in Las Vegas. 🎉 When I joined Zoox in 2019, I knew the road ahead would be unlike anything the industry (or the world) had seen before. Building a purpose-built robotaxi from the ground up, developing the software, the service infrastructure, and everything in between. It was a challenge many called impossible. And yet, here we are. Together, our team has turned that incredibly bold vision into reality. This is just the beginning. We still have a lot of work to do, but today we celebrate a historic milestone in our journey to transform urban mobility. Aicha Evans liked thisAicha Evans liked thisI’m excited to share my first post since joining Zoox! 🚀 Our team will present a paper (https://lnkd.in/gVdB-JfF) at Data@CoRL workshop in Seoul. Congrats to Carlo Bosio and Greg Woelki for leading the effort, and thanks to all collaborators who made this possible. We explored a subtle but important question: how can a robot understand which surrounding agents really matter for its decision making? The straightforward approach—measuring distribution shifts when masking out agents—quickly becomes intractable as the number of agents grows. To tackle this, we framed the problem as a reinforcement learning task: subset selection becomes the action, and efficient sampling strategies allow the system to learn which agents are most relevant. The result is both scalable and practical, running close to real time. What excites us most is that this framework isn’t tied to a single domain. It can extend broadly to robotics and beyond, wherever understanding token- or entity-level relevance is crucial for introspection or safety. Exciting to see him start his own business journeyAicha Evans reacted on thisThis summer, I had the incredible opportunity to intern at Slalom Consulting, where I focused on developing go-to-market strategies for a partnership between Slalom and one of the country's largest telecommunications company. My project centered on AI integration and organizational adoption, and through this work I was able to: Conduct market research and stakeholder interviews to validate strategic direction and client needs Create internal frameworks and collateral to support solution packaging, prioritization, and outreach Gain hands-on experience with consulting methodologies, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration I am especially grateful to Lauren Martin and Michelle Haack — their mentorship, encouragement, and guidance shaped not only my project but also my professional growth this summer. They consistently pushed me to think deeper, refine my approach, and deliver my best work, and I can’t thank them enough for the time and support they invested in me. I would also like to thank Brian Ladyman and Christine Perlick, who worked closely with me within my assigned industry and provided invaluable insights and feedback that elevated my recommendations. This experience was both challenging and rewarding, and I’m excited to carry these learnings forward into future opportunities.

I had the privilege of hailing a ride in San Francisco with my family, from the Chase Center to downtown, and it was flawless. Smooth, natural, and exactly what we dreamed of. The intuition was always right: once you’re in a #robotaxi, you want to forget about “driving.” What you feel instead is the magic of being in a beautiful lounge — sharing the ride, the conversation, and the moments with the people you care about. The experience was truly priceless. I’m so proud of the team that poured years of vision, grit, and brilliance into making this future real. Jonathan was confirmed following bipartisan approval from the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, & Transportation. Jonathan, we are thrilled to have you leading the agency at this time of great promise and opportunity! Under your guidance, we will execute on President Trump's and Secretary Duffy's key NHTSA priorities: - Meaningfully reducing crashes, fatalities, and serious injuries on our nation's roadways. - Establishing a federal regulatory framework to support the commercial deployment of autonomous vehicles. - Resetting fuel economy standards to eliminate a government mandate to purchase electric vehicles, making vehicles more affordable for Americans. The rapid ongoing evolution of vehicle technology and AI tools presents an inflection point for NHTSA's efforts to improve vehicle and roadway safety.
