Back in 2018, when I moved to Silicon Valley from Northwestern, I was fascinated by the people who built the infrastructure behind the internet. They weren't household names, but they built the systems that powered Google, Facebook, and the cloud era we all take for granted today. Gio co-founded Rackable Systems, one of the foundational infrastructure companies and took it public (later acquiring SGI and taking latter's name), helped build Google's early production infrastructure, and later led hardware engineering at Facebook. His work helped shape the way modern data centers are built. As we build what we believe is the next infrastructure layer—sovereign vision intelligence—having someone with Gio's experience, perspective, and belief in our mission join our Board is both humbling and exciting. A smarter, safer, customer-controlled intelligence layer on top of the infrastructure that already exists.

The cameras already installed across hospitals, airports, malls, factories, schools, data centers, transit systems, and energy sites stop being passive recorders. They become part of a real-time intelligence layer. Security teams don’t have to stare at hundreds of screens hoping to catch something. Operators don’t have to wait until after an incident to understand what happened. And governments and enterprises don’t have to send sensitive video to someone else’s cloud just to use AI. They can run vision intelligence inside environments they control fully secure— across existing cameras, existing VMS, and existing infrastructure. That is the world we are building toward at Matrice AI.

But somehow we're deep in conversations with a major energy company in the Middle East, one of the largest mall operators in Southeast Asia, a police force, hospital networks, transit agencies, government bodies, and just got off a call with our partners whose customers — big telcos, infrastructure operators — have been asking for exactly what we built. Qatar. Indonesia. Philippines. UK. USA. All inbound. All through partners. Nobody told me this would happen. Honestly I didn't expect it this fast. Building a startup is mostly hard and lonely and uncertain. But every once in a while something happens that makes you think — okay, we're onto something real here. Amar Krishna liked thisAmar Krishna liked thisRunpod is about to look more like a growth at all costs business. But it's a whole lot more nuanced than that. In the next few quarters, we're going to be: - Hiring faster - Investing more in product - Investing more in capacity etc. Here's what the outside can't see: there's a version of growth at all costs that is a deliberate decision, and a version that is a reflex. They both look similar from the outside, but very different internally. The reflex version is... rash: burn money, grow at any price, figure out the economics later. That's a recipe for disaster, and I've watched it take down companies that had every advantage. The deliberate version starts from the outcome. We set out by saying "here's the company we're convinced Runpod needs to become in three, five, ten years." We have set goals, and it becomes a game of getting there on target. Getting there means spending ahead of revenue and, for a stretch, looking like we've stopped caring about efficiency. (The spending might be identical line for line to the reflex version!) But the mode of operation is completely different, because one of them knows exactly what it's driving toward and one of them is hoping. The reason I'm comfortable turning the dial now is, frankly, we've spent years earning the right to. We proved, to ourselves and everyone watching, that we can run a disciplined company. Now it's time to push the throttle and move Runpod into it's next stage.

The real question: does the FDA push patients toward a regulated healthcare system, or an unregulated marketplace with zero guardrails? As American Academy of Peptide Medicine put it: this was never peptide care or no peptide care. It’s regulated or unregulated. Regulated means: • Individual evaluation by a licensed provider • Compounding by a licensed pharmacist • Verified API identity and purity (COAs) • Controlled, tailored dosing Prohibition doesn’t kill demand. It kills oversight. If patient well-being is the real priority, keep this inside a regulated, accountable system, not push it out where nobody’s watching. Compounding is not a crime. There are various map services available these days. The major information they provide include the road information (construction, blockage, etc.), the live traffic, and route suggestions based on those aforementioned factors. Routes are being suggested given the origin and destination of trip, as well as the trip setoff time. The travel means also matter but in this project we only focus on driving (excluding walking, bicycling, taking a bus, etc.). However what they do not disclose is the…

However what they do not disclose is the mechanism behind route suggesting. We are interested to see if there exist relationships, and what relationships are there, among different routes suggested from different times, as well as between routes and traffic itself. Furthermore, we are interested in the blackbox algorithm they might be using, and attempt to use a reversed engineering way to figure it out. A good understanding of the mechanism of route suggesting can help us make better decisions in the future.

Sentiment Analysis of Movie Reviews
The goals of this project were
• Classify the sentiment of movie reviews from rotten tomatoes and YouTube comments by correlating the movie ratings from both datasets and evaluating the proximity of their values.
• Estimating polarity trends by calculating the polarity of each review using the Naive Bayes classification method. We also used R for our statistical analysis (i.e. the polarity values).

Founding Engineer - Causal AI for Human Healthspan We're building a platform to answer "what practical, actionable interventions are necessary to improve your health, wellness and biological age and why?" by applying true causal inference to health data—unifying millisecond HRV streams with long-term epigenetic drift. We're looking for a Founding Engineer who has architected billion-event data pipelines at an Indian unicorn or global tech giant. You've shipped production ML systems that handle temporal confounding and have a deep, practical understanding of how to separate true causal effects from spurious correlations. You'll fine-tune LLMs for causal discovery, build novel transformers for sparse biological data, and create real-time inference engines for 100Hz physiological streams. This is a hands-on role for someone who has the technical depth to reason about the underlying physiology in our data streams and also knows how to leverage GPT-class models for causal graph construction. Founding team equity, remote-friendly (Bangalore/NCR preferred), working directly with a world-class CTO. A founder who has spent 32 Years building IP-Owned Tech in India's Defense Sector. Ashok Atluri, Founder of Zen Technologies Limited shares a growth story bootstrapped from Hyderabad: -Revenue: ₹60 Cr (FY21) → ₹930 Cr(FY24) -Market cap: 40 Cr (2012-13) → 13000 Cr today -Growth: 400X in 12 years Takeaways from our conversation: 1. India historically imported 65–70% of its defense equipment. Today, defense exports have grown more than 30× over the past decade, with the private sector contributing around 60% of exports. Domestic defense production has increased to ₹1.27 lakh crore, a 174% rise since FY 2014–15. 2. For over two decades, Zen built advanced simulators but struggled to sell them in India because single-vendor bids weren’t accepted. The IDDM policy in 2015 gave preference to IP-owning Indian companies and allocated 75% of the capital acquisition budget to local sourcing. And decades of R&D became a real market worth ₹200 billion. 3. Defense tech startups in India have raised $184 million in VC funding since 2020. Zen’s journey shows that IP-owned Tech built with self-funded R&D can build the most defensible advantage, similar to how Apple captures value through IP rather than manufacturing. 4. Zen’s anti-drone systems were proven in field operations, leading to export inquiries from over 20 countries. This mirrors the broader trend of India’s defense exports growing from ₹1,940 crore (FY14) to ₹21,083 crore (FY24). Field-tested solutions build trust far faster than lab demos or pilot projects. 5. Government fundings are rewarding innovation over manufacturing. Programs like iDEX provide up to ₹10 crore for proven concepts, while DRDO offers ₹50 crore per system under the Technology Development Fund. This shift allows companies to reinvest profits into next-generation R&D. 6. Ashok believes that not all technologies should be patented. Highly secretive or complex innovations can be reverse-engineered if patented. Instead, patent what is obvious to outsiders to protect your competitive edge. 7. Build with a focused approach on Pareto technologies with maximum impact. Instead of chasing every opportunity, Zen concentrated on the 20% of technologies delivering 80% of results, anti-drone systems and simulators. Prioritizing high-leverage areas compounds impact effectively. 8. Time market entry around overlooked gaps: In 2018, drones were a hot topic, but there was little attention on anti-drone systems. Zen entered this gap and was ready when the need became urgent, from regional conflicts to domestic security. Opportunities often lie where others are silent. 9. Create policies around your innovation: Self-funded R&D firms face unique risks that conventional procurement rules often overlook. What if the next big startup targeted toddlers as their end users? I am talking about quick commerce for baby care. Once upon a time, Amit Sah had to shut down his first startup, Zoplar, after a sudden government ban on refurbished medical equipment crushed the business overnight. Most would’ve been down and out, Amit wasn't. Having spent over a decade leading international operations at Ola, OYO, and Pristyn Care, he knew one thing better than most, how to build efficient, fast-moving, ground-level operations. And that’s exactly what he’s doing now with his new venture, OZi. OZi is reimagining baby and kids’ commerce for the quick commerce era. Parents can now order diapers, formula, apparel, toys, or grooming essentials and have them arrive at their doorstep in under an hour. Why baby care? It’s one of the few categories that ticks every box for vertical QCom success: - High repeatability (diapers don’t wait) - Wide SKU range (taste-driven items like toys and apparel) - High AOV and margin potential - Brand recall waiting to be built in the baby care category most, parents don’t have a “go-to” platform or brand yet. The baby care market is still largely unorganised, with FirstCry.com (BrainBees Solutions Ltd.) being the only big incumbent, leaving a huge gap for a focused, modern, hyper-local player. Backed by Blume Ventures, Amit has assembled an A-team with talent from Urban Company, Cars24, and Zomato, building a network of dark stores that already powers deliveries across Gurgaon. The plan is simple: perfect one city’s logistics before expanding. OZi will compete with Zepto, Instamart and Blinkit in this niche, but their strength will be in the vertical play and focus which will not be something Zepto or Blinkit will easily beat. Blinkit already has a curated category called 'kids' which is solving exactly for this. It remains to be seen whether deeper understanding of customer needs and a better assortment helps Ozi beat the giants. Moral of the story: The next generation of QCom winners won’t sell everything. They’ll find niches and sell something deeply repeatable, high-trust, and high-margin. What are some other niches of QCom you think are waiting to be cracked? My hunch is that there is an opportunity in healthier food and grocery, curated packaged and organics vs just every brand under the sun. An app which acts more like a diet and food planner and then gets what you should be eating delivered to you too.

India has abundant expertise across every domain - logistics operators, subject matter experts, local service providers, etc. What's scarce isn't capability. It's the systems that coordinate this capability at scale. Most companies see this fragmentation and default to vertical integration: build everything in-house, own all capabilities, control every aspect of delivery. This works if you have unlimited capital and time. Most companies have neither. But there's an alternative approach that we've noticed two of our portcos execute remarkably well, in completely different industries - 1. When Meesho looked at India's logistics, and they saw thousands of fragmented local operators. Instead of building warehouses and delivery fleets, they built Valmo - an orchestration platform coordinating existing partners. Individual pilots with smartphones earn sustainable incomes, small hub operators build viable businesses, and Meesho gets coverage across 15,000+ pin codes at 12% lower cost than traditional third-party-logistics. 2. Entri saw similar fragmentation in education. India has abundant teaching expertise already running offline/online programs. Entri partners with them for content while owning demand generation, platform infra, quality monitoring, and placements. This allows them to launch new categories in weeks and scale across languages without the capital intensity of building in-house teams for every vertical. If I had to pull a common thread, it's that in fragmented markets like India, the orchestration layer often matters more than asset ownership. Coordinate what exists rather than rebuilding from scratch.
