I joined this board to lend my help in empowering Iowa's women in reaching economic independence and success by eliminating the barriers that inhibit that.
I am focused on access to quality affordable childcare across our state as a way to increase workforce participation and support women pursuing work and careers that help them lead a better life, raise stable families and impact our state's economy.

The Iowa Business and Childcare Coalition seeks to model and find business-based solutions to the childcare shortage, and to address additional challenges in the childcare system due to the pandemic.

We will achieve this by:
Sharing best practices and information on business-provided solutions (such as co-oped childcare, on-site childcare, and compensation packages that feature childcare assistance), and modeling expanded offerings in our own workforces.

Elected to the Cedar Rapids Community School District in 2019, I serve as an at-large director serving Iowa's second-largest school district.

An active member of Women Lead Change - the premier organization for advancing women’s’ careers through eduction, connections, mentoring and support.

100 days to help shape Iowa’s economic recovery - this working group is focused on child care as a cornerstone of workforce support, particularly as it relates to encouraging and incentivizing businesses to engage in supportive practices.

After working for the council as a staff member, I transitioned to a board development role, whereI helped identify potential new board members. I joined the board in 2012 and am proud to support an organization that has shaped the future of so many girls.

The Foundation raises money and manages assets to help fund the gap for students, teachers and classrooms, to ensure everyone has the opportunity to participate in school activities.

Served on the board as chair of the public service committee. Currently working to develop and launch a new public service campaign.

Served on the allocation committee for the Cedar Rapids Hotel Motel fund, reviewing applications and administering the projected funding. Served as Chair for 3 years.

Served as commissioner and launched Cedar Rapids Ignite event, help choose artwork for the City and make decommissioning decisions post flood.

Listen to Your Mother is a syndicated event that takes place in cities across America on or around Mother's Day and celebrates the motherhood - in it's many forms. I'm proud to be a founding director of the Cedar Rapids event with a great team of other women. Look out 2014 - it's going to be bigger and better!

Non-profit organization that supports and assists with programs that help Iowa Women attain economic self-sufficiency.
Committee studies and guides cedar monitors in overcoming barriers to women's success by addressing and facilitating the alleviation of the shortage of quality, affordable childcare available in Iowa's communities.
