Venky Harinarayan and Anand Rajaraman graduated from IIT-M and went to Stanford University 30 years ago. Their friendship began when Venky drove Anand to buy groceries in his car. They co-founded Junglee, a database technology company during their Ph.D. Around that time, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, Founders of Google created BackRub, one that became the search engine later. Sergey and Anand had the same Ph.D advisor, Jeff Ullman through whom they got acquainted. So, Larry and Sergey offered to sell Google for a million dollars. But they couldn't buy it since they did not have the funds. Subsequently, Junglee became a comparison shop engine that was acquired by Amazon in 1998 for $250 Million. Now they have the funds, did they buy Google? After joining Amazon, they even convinced Bezos to buy Google for $300 Million, but this time, Larry and Sergey wouldn't sell for anything less than a billion dollars. Another miss. Venky and Anand mention that they are happy for Larry & Sergey and that they don't have any regrets. At Amazon, they developed the marketplace business and also the underlying concept of Amazon Mechanical Turk. They left Amazon in 2000. In 2005, They started a social media data and analysis company Kosmix which raised $55 Million from Accel, Lightspeed, DAG ventures. It was acquired by Walmart in 2011 for $300 Million+. This became Walmart Labs - a tech shop for the retail giant Walmart. Two companies. Two big exits. Wait there's more. In 2000, after selling their first venture to Amazon, the duo then started Cambrian Ventures, a $25 million seed-stage venture fund that backed technology startups started by Stanford PhDs. One of their interesting investments in 2005 was Facebook. They also invested in 10+ startups and had 5+ successful exits to many companies including Teradata, Walmart, and Juniper networks. In 2013, they started Milliways Ventures which invests in Deeptech startups. In 2015, they started Rocketship.vc and invested in NoBroker.com, Khatabook, Mad Street Den, apna, Fampay and many other startups. With cricket viewing minutes more than the major league soccer in the US, Anand and Venky's latest investment is in San Francisco Unicorns in a move to bring cricket to the USA. I have heard about serial entrepreneurs, but this is the first time I am seeing a serial VC.

They all have tall claims about AI and Machine learning and what not. After 50 years in Silicon Valley I have learnt to take most things with a pinch of salt. Here comes Bolt with a $11 Billion valuation. It seems to have shades of Theranos. We will see how this story ends. Theranos was undone by an expose by WSJ. If that is an example, more shoes are likely to drop about Bolt in the near future. Peter Thiel is a very successful entrepreneur and a VC. Among the best! But he does not have patience. He has a standing offer of funding to the tune of $100,000, any student who drops out of Stanford to do a startup. Odds of success as an entrepreneur are low, very low. I question the wisdom of encouraging the immature kids to drop out to do a startup. What is the need for unseemly hurry? I encourage everybody to try their hand at entrepreneurship but not at the expense of education. Costs about 480$ to ship 1 device through FedEx (Air cargo) which is equivalent to the cost of the device itself & takes 3-5 business days. An internship converted into a full-time role. And none of it mattered when the lottery numbers came out. That’s what makes this process so difficult. The lottery doesn’t evaluate your work. It doesn’t evaluate your impact. It doesn’t evaluate what you’ve built. It’s luck. At first glance, that work can sound very technical: listing flows, APIs, validation, performance, accessibility, launch readiness, and platform reliability. But the impact is much bigger than the code. Every improvement we make to reduce friction in the listing experience helps more items make it onto the marketplace successfully. A used phone finding a second owner. A refurbished tablet staying in use. A pre-loved jacket getting relisted instead of sitting in a closet or ending up as waste. That is recommerce at scale. It is also why eBay’s public 2025 Recommerce Report (https://lnkd.in/gRwEuA2Q) resonates with me. According to the report, nearly 9 in 10 consumers plan to maintain or increase their spending on pre-loved goods, 81% of surveyed consumers choose pre-loved to save money, and 86% of eBay sellers start with items from their own homes. That last point feels especially relevant as summer approaches. Summer cleaning is a great reminder that many of us already have items sitting in closets, garages, drawers, or storage bins that someone else could use, love, repair, resell, or give a second life. For me, building web listing tools is not just about enabling transactions. It is about helping sellers participate in the circular economy with less friction and more confidence. It is about helping buyers access value. And it is about helping products stay in use longer. That is what makes eBay special. The Seattle Tech community and developers everywhere knew him as the leader of Microsoft’s Developer Division, and later on as one of the driving forces at Madrona, helping shape the startup ecosystem in Seattle. As is evident from the outpouring of tributes, those who interacted with him knew him as a soft spoken, kind and remarkable human being. I was fortunate enough to know him and his family as dear friends from the time we came to Seattle over 27 years ago. I will miss his warmth, his caring and the wisdom he shared so abundantly. Rest in peace, Soma - you have left us too soon.

Performance Evaluation of Microstrip, Waveguide and Aperture Antennas

The design and analysis of a Patch antenna, CPW antenna, Slot antenna and Stripline antenna was performed using the “CST Microwave Studio v2010” software. The Patch Antenna was also designed using the Ansoft HFSS software to compare with the results generated through CST MicrowaveStudio. Furthermore, an application of patch antenna in mobile devices was illustrated as an extension for analyzing the properties of a patch antenna.

A question for Delhivery's tech team — can someone clarify your NDR StatusCodes? We're building a logistics aggregation platform and integrating deeply with Delhivery's webhook and tracking APIs. We've hit a genuine confusion that we can't find answers to anywhere — not in the API docs, not in the Help Center, not in the Developer Portal. The question is simple: What do your EOD StatusCodes officially mean? Your NDR API documentation lists these codes as valid for re-attempt actions: EOD-74, EOD-15, EOD-104, EOD-43, EOD-86, EOD-11, EOD-69, EOD-6, EOD-16, ST-108 But nowhere — absolutely nowhere — is there a public reference that maps these codes to their actual meanings. And here's why this matters: We assumed (based on available references) that: EOD-11 = "Address Incomplete / Incorrect" EOD-86 = "Door Locked / Premises Closed" But your own webhooks tell a different story: StatusCode: EOD-11 Instructions: "Consignee Unavailable" StatusCode: EOD-86 Instructions: "Not attempted" So which is it? Is EOD-11 about address issues or consignee availability? Is EOD-86 about door locked or just a generic non-attempt? Does EOD-86 always mean "Door Locked" but the Instructions field carries the delivery agent's actual remark? What we need: An official StatusCode-to-Reason mapping — a simple table with code + meaning Clarification on the relationship between StatusCode and Instructions — is the code the category and Instructions the agent's remark? Or should they match? Is this mapping published anywhere we might have missed?
