Mani Honigstein reposted thisMani Honigstein reposted thisGreat interns can have an outsized impact when you give them real problems to solve, real customers to serve, and real ownership. This summer, Atishay Narayanan and Evan Ho joined lorica as engineering interns, each owning products from start to finish while building, shipping, and working directly with customers. Judy Ma joined as a growth intern and drove a deal end-to-end, from initial outreach through the final stages of closing. We celebrated the three of them with a send-off at The Squadron. Of course, it would not be a Lorica event without a little thrill and some flying. We are incredibly proud of what they accomplished, how quickly they learned, and the standard they set. At lorica, we are overhauling how critical infrastructure is conceived and built through a unique combination of AI and services. We want Lorica to be a place where future founders learn to move fast, take ownership, work directly with customers, and build things that matter. Whether you are a consultant, project developer, software engineer, or infrastructure enthusiast, come build with us. (And if you just want to talk energy, data centers, or transmission and distribution infrastructure, let’s hang.)

Mani Honigstein shared thisIt is an incredible privilege to work with Itai Hirsch and to see this team's lightspeed execution. Can't wait to see what's next. Honeystone VenturesMani Honigstein shared thisTurnout has raised a $35M Series A to build lifetime advocacy. Bureaucracy surrounds us in government, healthcare, education, and insurance services. When you enter one of these systems alone, you experience wasted time, unfair pricing, and a lack of transparency without reaching your desired outcome – it’s purgatory. Turnout was built on the thesis that navigating the system could be reimagined in a way that feels intuitive to the consumer. We developed Jake, our AI agent, to work alongside our advocates so you never have to deal with the system alone. Jake takes care of the headache you never want to deal with – wait times, document filing, record retrieval, blah blah blah – so you don’t have to. It’s your turn. Mani Honigstein shared thisThanks for letting us be part of this journey Pierre-Jean 'PJ' Cobut and Paul Alexander. It has been incredible to watch you guys build a much-needed and incredible product. And thanks for the free lunches :) Honeystone VenturesMani Honigstein shared thisGetting a patient discharged from a hospital can involve 40 coordinated tasks, spread across a dozen doctors, nurses, and case managers, with no single system tracking or coordinating any of it. Electronic Medical Records weren't designed to do any of this effectively. These systemic inefficiencies cost US hospitals over $60B per year in avoidable delays and lost capacity. With margins collapsing, occupancy climbing, and staff stretched to a breaking point, this is not sustainable anymore. Caremaze is fixing that. We are the orchestration layer above the EMR built to support the care team with real-time visibility, intelligence, and appropriate automation of time-consuming tasks. Right now, a case manager finds out about a discharge blocker when it's already too late. A minor procedure was ordered but never scheduled. A bed at a rehab facility filled up yesterday. A follow-up appointment was never confirmed. Caremaze catches those blockers days earlier and puts them in front of the right provider or staff before they become a delay. All decisions stay with clinicians. We handle the tracking, the anticipation, and the coordination. Care teams should not have to be stretched any thinner than they already are. Our team was built to solve this problem from every angle, with decades of combined experience across clinical care, health tech, and hospital operations. I sold my last healthcare startup in 2021 and spent two years after that just listening to and learning from hospital staff before writing a single line of code. Paul Alexander, my co-founder and CTO, has been building AI solutions and integrating with EMRs for 15 years. L. Okey Onyejekwe Jr., MD, JD, our CMO, who is an ER doc at the VA, sees these bottlenecks firsthand every shift. We're fortunate to be advised by Neera Ahuja, CMO at Stanford Hospital and Anika Gardenhire, RN,CHCIO Gardenhire, Chief Digital and Information Officer at Michigan Medicine, among others. I'm grateful to the hundreds of doctors, nurses, case managers, and social workers who have contributed insights, given product feedback, and allowed us to shadow their work. And to our initial set of hospital partners for betting on us to improve length of stay and staff satisfaction together. Last but not least, thank you to our team of world-class AI engineers and capital partners for believing in the mission: Eric Chen and Gianfranco Filice (OVO Fund), Simon Chan (FirsthandVC), Mani Honigstein, Sarah Soule, Jonathan Levav, Yossi Feinberg (Honeystone Ventures), Ihar Mahaniok and Alexander Zemlyak (Geek Ventures), Jukka Alanen (Rebellion Ventures), and others.

Mani Honigstein shared thisIn other news...we invested in Tess and are excited to help Ricardo Barros and Renato Ferreira to make it BIG in the US. Honeystone VenturesMani Honigstein shared thisToday is a day I'll never forget. TESS AI just closed a $5M Seed round, led by Hi Ventures, co-led by DYDX Capital, with participation from Honeystone Ventures — three funds with serious presence in Silicon Valley that believed in our vision of transforming companies with AI, letting every employee work side by side with their own autonomous agents. I first got into AI back in college, nearly 20 years ago. After a little nudge from the then-director of UFRJ (more on that tomorrow!), I decided to go all in on artificial intelligence. That's when I co-founded Pareto in 2012, alongside Ramon Thurler Palomo — two kids eating dust trying to convince companies that AI was better than a simple spreadsheet formula 😅. It wasn't easy, but Pareto became Latin America's first AI brand and today has made its mark. But I always felt like something was missing. Back then, I'd hop on the 998 bus to UFRJ every single day, reading Inside Steve's Brain, thinking: "when will I be crossing the Golden Gate instead of the Rio-Niterói?". And then it happened. At the end of 2024, I decided to leave the company I founded and build TESS — together with Renato Ferreira, Milena Maia, and Pedro Cunha Campos. And 14 months later, we're packing our bags for California, with over 16,000 customers, over 2 million autonomous tasks done, and outperforming Manus by 10% on the GAIA Benchmark. What an honor, folks! And look at the team that joined us: 🔹 Hi Ventures — led by Federico Antoni and Jimena Pardo, one of the most visionary funds in Latin America and one of the very few in the world 100% focused on AI. The Hi team was behind the incredible Cornershop deal, acquired by Uber. 🔹 DYDX Capital — a data-focused fund co-led by Ryan Nichols, former Chief Product Officer (CPO) of Salesforce's Service Cloud, where he helped build a $9 billion division. 🔹 Honeystone Ventures — co-founded by Sarah Soule, Dean of Stanford GSB, alongside legendary professors like Jonathan Levav and Yossi Feinberg, with Mani Honigstein as Managing Partner. TESS is an autonomous agent platform that orchestrates over 250 AI models with one single goal: letting professionals build agents that are truly autonomous. Welcome to the era of Vibe-Working! Vibe-Work is waking up to find a 200-page report written in your name — while you slept. It's building a complex HR system even if you're not a tech person. It's watching your career reach new heights while still being, well, you, but with an entire squad of AI agents running behind the scenes. Vibe-Work is NOT for people who want to work LESS — it's for people who want to work BETTER. And that's TESS. And of course we found a way to celebrate this milestone with you! I've opened up exclusive invites for companies to test TESS with their entire team for 28 days — and we're covering 100% of the AI costs. Link in the comments! Keep Vibing. Keep Working. 🚀 #TessAI #VibeWorking #SiliconValley #AIAgents #FutureOfWork

Mani Honigstein shared thisNo one works harder than Yaniv Shimoni and Kaushik Narasimhan. Well deserved guys! Honeystone VenturesMani Honigstein shared this🚨 Big news from Take2 AI We’re excited to announce our $14M series A, led by HUMAN CAPITAL, with participation from BHI - Bertelsmann Healthcare Investments, Reach Capital, SemperVirens VC, Honeystone Ventures, and Gurtin Ventures. Healthcare hiring has reached a breaking point. One in three new jobs is in healthcare, turnover often exceeds 50%, yet recruiting workflows remain deeply manual - driving high vacancy costs and slowing access to talent where it’s needed most. At Take2, we’re building AI agents purpose-built for healthcare recruiting. Today, we’re launching our full network of AI agents to automate the end-to-end recruiting process, from sourcing and screening to credential verification, scheduling, and onboarding. By automating the entire funnel, we are helping healthcare organizations save millions of dollars annually while dramatically improving quality of hire and employee retention. Over the last year, we’ve partnered with some of the largest health systems in the U.S. and rolled out our agents across their recruiting operations. This wouldn’t be possible without the immense support of our early customers, investors and advisors. Grateful for Juan Pablo Villarreal, Esteban Sosnik, Jomayra Herrera, Allison Baum Gates, Robby Peters, Tim Schneider, Thorsten Wirkes, Bill Gurtin, Mani Honigstein, and all our investors and advisors who have supported us from day one. Most importantly, thanks to the mighty and incredible Take2 team for building something incredible, reliable, compliant, and ready for scale. Kaushik Narasimhan and I are excited by the future we’re building and the mission that’s driving us. We’re growing rapidly and hiring across all functions - shoot me a note or apply online if you or any rockstar you know wants to join our amazing team! Let’s go 🚀 P.S. Mani Honigstein shared thisIt has been a privilege backing Garrett and the team on this important missionMani Honigstein shared thisI’m excited to share that Sora Schools has closed a $10M venture round—led by our existing investors Union Square Ventures and General Catalyst—with new investors Sparkmind Capital, Honeystone Ventures, and LearnerStudio. That brings our total raised to $31M. We started Sora six years ago because middle and high school felt stuck in the past. Most students were disengaged, unhappy, and ultimately unprepared for real life. While Sora has grown fast, that core problem hasn’t gone away. Now, thanks to AI, it’s becoming existential for society. Traditional school—lectures, memorization, tests—was built for a world where information was scarce and most work was routine. But that reality is fading fast. As AI commoditizes repetitive cognitive work, the leverage moves to what’s stubbornly human. That’s a different game. Trying to fix school by simply making it faster is like hot-rodding a Model T when the world demands supersonic flight. So, how do you create AI-empowered humans? What skills are most useful for this sci-fi future at our doorstep? Agency: turning intention into action without waiting for permission. Sensemaking: making progress when the problem is messy, and the path isn’t obvious. Navigating ambiguity. Storytelling: Verbally and visually communicating to earn trust, recruit collaborators, and move ideas into the world. Like it or not, AI is about to widen the gap between kids who can self-direct and kids who just follow instructions. The old signals—grades, polished essays, “completed” work—are getting noisier by the day. Families who get it will stop optimizing for content coverage and start optimizing for agency and real-world output. And once that becomes the AI-accelerated status game, the gap won’t be subtle. That’s why Sora Schools exists: an agency-first middle and high school where students tackle real challenges with peers, using technology and content as tools—not the primary goal. Every student graduates with a portfolio of projects they’re excited to share: proof of what they can do. And it’s built for flexible family life—learn online from anywhere, or travel between our partner campuses. If you share this vision and want your student prepared, please reach out. In 2026, we’re expanding our private schools, public school partnerships, regional microschools, camps, and after-school courses—there are more ways than ever to join the mission. Lastly, consider "following" to stay in the loop—big announcements coming soon!

On a Take2 AI & SHRM webinar, I asked them where healthcare talent acquisition is headed in the age of agentic AI. Here's what I took away. 1️⃣ Candidates are ready for AI screening – In a University of Chicago study, 78% of candidates chose an AI interviewer over a human. None of our panelists were surprised. Candidates screen on their own schedule and skip the wait for a callback. 2️⃣ AI agents close the speed gap – Clinicians apply to several hospitals at once, and the first offer often wins. AI agents screen and schedule the moment an application comes in, so top candidates don't go elsewhere while they are waiting. 3️⃣ Past applicants are an overlooked source of hires – Most ATSs hold thousands of qualified people who never got a call back . AI agents can re-engage them as soon as a matching role opens. 👇Get the rest of the takeaways here 👇 https://lnkd.in/gKQZJrTj7 Things We Learned From Top Healthcare CHROs About AI Agents in Recruiting - Take2 AI7 Things We Learned From Top Healthcare CHROs About AI Agents in Recruiting - Take2 AI

Mani Honigstein liked thisThank you Carlo Schmid and LINEAGE - Fund of Searchers for having me on the show!Mani Honigstein liked thisLineage: The ETA Podcast New episode with David Schenavsky on Buy and Build: 60 Acquisitions in 17 Countries Buy and build is one of the most talked-about value creation strategies in small business investing, and the least understood in practice. On paper it is simple: buy a platform, add companies, capture synergies. In reality, every add-on is its own deal, its own integration, and its own set of people problems. David Schenavsky spent nearly eight years inside one of the most active buy-and-build machines in the German Mittelstand. He joined Tentamus Group in 2017 when the first platform had a handful of add-ons, and left as Head of Corporate Development with the group at roughly 4,500 employees across 100+ sites. Along the way, around 60 acquisitions in 17 countries. Since 2024, he has been building a second TIC platform from scratch with Assessimus Group, now across Germany, the UK, and the US. Seven things I took away from this conversation: 1. Stability beats size when picking a platform. A smaller, cash-positive baseline you can build on is worth more than a large business that needs fixing first. 2. Most deals are off-market and start with a personal message. Founders want to know who you are and what you will do with their baby. 3. Align the EBITDA baseline before the LOI. If the founder thinks it is 1 million and you think it is 750k, every step afterwards becomes a fight. 4. Keep the LOI to two pages in plain English. Baseline, structure, the two or three terms that matter to the founder. First-time sellers need to understand what they are signing. 5. Keep the founder invested, but not silently. Below 10 percent, a retained stake stops being an incentive. Structure between 51 and 90 percent, ideally 70/30 or 80/20, so both sides win when it works and both feel it when it does not. 6. Diligence never finds the unwritten rules. Talk to second-line staff during DD and accept that you will always find things after closing. 7. Never pursue a deal you cannot pull through. Founders talk. If you walk away after an LOI, your reputation is gone. Know why you are buying and be sure you can close before you start the conversation. Full episode in the comments. If you own a platform and are thinking about your first add-on, or you are building a buy-and-build thesis from scratch, this one is for you. cc: LINEAGE - Fund of Searchers, John Schanbacher, Michael Wax, Robert Abdel Jalil, Nikolaus Fischer-Zernin

Mani Honigstein liked thisMani Honigstein liked thisWorld Labs is one the portfolio companies of ours that comes up the most when we speak with other investors and founders about where we are investing in AI and why. Beyond the headline price, the angle about AMD broadening its reach into software & the rapid evolution of world models (e.g., interaction with environments, next frame prediction, reasoning, physical AI) means we still have quite a few exciting cards to turn here, as the space develops further. Looking forward to seeing what the two companies do together. And in the meantime, big congratulations to Fei-Fei Li and team! And of course, to AMD! https://lnkd.in/gPCQz_-d

Mani Honigstein liked thisMani Honigstein liked thisCrowdStrike puts the window between initial access and devastating impact at seven minutes. Most security architectures need longer than that just to write the logs. The way most enterprises are built, EDR owns the endpoint, CNAPP owns the cloud, and IDP owns identity, each reporting into its own dashboard, each blind to what the others are seeing. Attackers have known this for years, which is why they move across domains rather than through them. By the time those signals get aggregated into a SIEM and something actionable surfaces, the damage is already done. Cybersecurity Mesh Architecture was designed around that reality. Because it stays continuously connected to every tool across the stack, it catches cross-domain issues the moment they appear rather than after the logging cycle catches up, which is the only way seven minutes becomes a window you can actually work with.

Mani Honigstein liked thisMani Honigstein liked thisMost of the conversation around AI in investing is stuck in making investors faster. Partnering with ASUS and NVIDIA, we wanted to ask what happens when AI runs the investment process itself? Together, we put two autonomous AI investment teams into live markets for a week. They researched markets, built portfolios, managed risk and traded live capital without trade-by-trade human approval. We’re building a fund engine designed to continually create and improve new investment strategies. This infrastructure gives us a place to prototype new systems, test them under real market conditions and learn what works before we scale them. It’s the R&D layer for the asset manager we’re building. The scope was intentionally limited. But the test showed how investment strategies could be developed, tested and improved more like technology products. Watch the experiment below, and read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/dYVW5XzJ

My father and grandfather were both small business owners, and 13 years ago Nir Klar and I started Bluevine because we believed small business owners deserved better financial services. Today, we've announced a major milestone in that journey: Bluevine has signed an agreement to be acquired by Valley National Bancorp, the parent company of Valley Bank. What started with helping small businesses access working capital has grown into the largest small business banking platform in the country. We've served more than 1 million small businesses, delivered more than $17 billion in financing, expanded into banking and payments, and built an incredible team around the world. We've always made decisions based on how we can deliver the greatest impact for small business owners. We believe this decision will also have a great impact for these owners. Valley brings the scale, stability, capabilities, and reach of an established bank. Combined with Bluevine's technology, small business expertise, and digital-first customer experience, we believe it will allow us to accelerate our growth and advance the mission we've been pursuing from the beginning. We are thrilled to be part of the Syntracts journey with Douglas Bemis, Christopher Martin! Syntracts is solving the crucial industry paradox of how enterprises can harness the "magic of AI" without compromising data security. We are deeply impressed by their fundamentally different and innovative approach: building secure on-prem legal AI infrastructure at scale. Syntracts utilizes thousands of experts—small language models fine-tuned with synthetic data—to provide reliable, accurate, structured data for complex legal documents. This is the purpose-built, privacy-first data layer the legal industry desperately needs. We are excited to support Syntracts as they scale trust and performance in enterprise AI. Thrilled to announce that Together Fund is investing in Sentra, alongside a16z speedrun! You track results in Jira. Decisions in Notion. Conversations in Slack. But the reasoning, the debates, trade-offs, and context behind why you chose A over B, disappears into what we call "Dark Matter." A decision made in March looks insane by July because no one remembers the constraints that made it smart. I lived this firsthand at Twitter scaling from 800 to 8,000 employees, and at Google while launching AI Overviews to billions at planet scale. The problem isn't process. Process is compensation for something deeper: organizational amnesia. An organization’s "Systems of Record" doesn’t solve this, they encode it. They store what happened, never why. That's why we are investing in Sentra. Sentra is the always-on collective memory that eliminates organizational amnesia by maintaining accurate context for all members and agents, functioning as an operational nervous system. It connects to every channel where work happens, meetings, Slack, email, code commits, docs, calendars, and treats them not as artifacts to search, but as living signals to synthesize. The fleeting and the permanent, unified into a memory that understands. The founding team is built for this: - Jae Gwan Park (CEO): Product-first founder, memory systems research at UofT and MIT - Ashwin Gopinath (CSO): Former MIT professor, created "Reflexion" (NeurIPS 2023), agents that learn from mistakes, 2x founder - Andrey Starenky (CTO): Early Vapi engineer, ex-IBM, built to process enterprise-scale data firehose Together is an operator-led fund. We invest in problems we've lived. This is one of them. Many congrats Jae, Ashwin and Andrey, we are so excited to partner with you!
