Nash Islam shared thisThis year I started reflecting on what comes after my tech career and how I might eventually give back to the city that raised me, New Orleans. That exploration led me to a volunteer mentorship role with the graduating seniors at Khan Lab School. It became a window into what education can look like when students are trusted to own their curiosity, and what it takes for educators to support that kind of learning with patience, structure, and imagination. I wrote a short reflection on the experience and how it's clarified the role education might play in my future. Grateful to Sal Khan, Kimberly Dow, Morgan May and the incredibly impressive seniors who shared their work, thinking, and growth so openly. What I Learned from Five Months Volunteering at Khan Lab SchoolWhat I Learned from Five Months Volunteering at Khan Lab SchoolNash Islam

Today marks a pivotal moment for the smart home. For years, the industry’s promise has outpaced the reality of the technology. This is the start of the Gemini era of Google Home. The result is the biggest and most coordinated launch for Google Home and Nest in years, built on four key pillars: • 𝗚𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲: A new foundational intelligence that replaces the Google Assistant and brings a new level of conversational understanding and capability to your home. • 𝗔 𝗿𝗲𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗔𝗽𝗽: Now faster, more reliable, and delivers on the promise of a single, unified app for all your Home & Nest devices. Nash Islam shared thisProud to have invested in Binti and excited to see their awesome article in Forbes today talking about how they are leveraging AI to save social workers time across government social services. Love this quote in the article from Anthropic CEO, "When we founded Anthropic, we believed AI could transform lives in meaningful ways. Seeing Binti help connect children with loving families faster by cutting through months of paperwork is exactly the real-world impact we hoped to enable.”Nash Islam shared thisPaperwork is one of the biggest stumbling blocks to meaningful social work, the kind that places at-risk kids in loving families. The process of gathering and filling out forms for court documents, family assessments, referrals for housing programs and more delays the actual work of supporting and improving the wellbeing of those in need. Anthropic thinks AI can help. The company has partnered with Binti, a startup providing a digital platform for more than 12,000 social workers across some 550 government social service agencies, to build out new tools to help them manage their cases more easily.Anthropic Is Letting Social Workers From Hundreds Of Government Agencies Use Its AI For PaperworkAnthropic Is Letting Social Workers From Hundreds Of Government Agencies Use Its AI For Paperwork

Nash Islam reacted on thisBig milestone for the Nomic AI team today as Arcadis announces a strategic investment in and long-term commercial partnership with us! I really couldn't be prouder of all the effort that got us here. The numbers from their global pilot: 86% of participating engineers said Nomic changed how they approach their work, with more than a quarter calling the shift fundamental. Hundreds of custom workflows and automations were deployed, from document reviews that took days that now take hours; to engineers using the platform to strengthen technical bids and win new work. Huge credit to our team, and to the Arcadis engineers who pushed us on what they needed to work in their environment. We're just getting started! Andriy Mulyar, Freek MatheijNash Islam reacted on thisToday, we have announced a strategic financial investment in, and long-term commercial partnership with Nomic AI, a domain specific AI platform provider, purpose-built to enhance architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) workflows. AI is already changing how our industry designs, coordinates and delivers complex projects. Our investment in Nomic is a targeted step in bringing those capabilities into the heart of Arcadis’ delivery model, helping our people work faster and more effectively while improving outcomes for clients. Nash Islam reacted on thisNash Islam reacted on thisToday, I’m thrilled to share something I’ve been heads-down on for a while: I’m coming out of stealth as Co-Founder & CEO of DeepWeave🚀 I’m building this with my co-founder Professor David Z. Pan, Silicon Labs Endowed Chair at UT Austin, and CTO of DeepWeave — one of the sharpest minds in EDA and physical design I know, and someone I feel lucky to work alongside. For me, this is also a homecoming. I started my career in EDA — a PhD in low-power synthesis, early research and publications in the field, and along the way I wrote and named Intel’s ASPEN schematic power-estimation tool, which is still in use today. Building DeepWeave is coming full circle: back to the problems that first pulled me into this industry, at the exact moment they matter most. For decades, better chips came from a simple promise: shrink the transistor, and everything gets faster. That promise is running out — and it is running out at the very moment AI’s hunger for better chips has never been greater. When manufacturing can no longer carry the gains, they have to come from the design itself. This is the most valuable unsolved problem in semiconductors today, and it is becoming its biggest bottleneck. This is a real moment, and right now no one is truly meeting it. The upstarts are teaching AI to do the engineer’s job a little faster, leaving the chip itself unchanged. The incumbents have spent decades tuning the design one stage at a time. Neither is reaching for the prize that actually matters: a fundamentally better chip. That’s the gap DeepWeave was built to close. DeepWeave exists to solve it. Our product, Loom, attacks physical design and manufacturing holistically, from first principles. It’s a fundamentally new category of optimization, one that integrates design and technology co-optimization more deeply than anything that’s come before it, unlocking significant PPA improvement. None of this happens without the investors who bet on us early. Thankful for the support of our lead, Root Ventures(Chrissy Meyer), along with SciFi VC (Max Levchin), TenOneTen Ventures (David Waxman), A&E Investments(Andrew Tan), Homebrew (Satya Patel and Hunter Walk), and Growth Enjin Partners (Kazuki Notsu). Deeply appreciative too for the individual belief and backing of John Giannandrea, Ben Gomes, Shashidhar (Shashi) Thakur, Tara Prakriya, Jason Cong, and Rajeev Madhavan — investors who share our conviction that PPA optimization is one of the most consequential problems in chip design today. We’re building a world-class team across CAD/EDA engineering, AI/ML research, and customer engineering — if that’s you, I’d love to talk. Check our Careers page or send your resume to jobs@deepweave.ai. If you’ll be at DAC, The Chips to Systems Conference (July 26–29), come find us. Weaving Design and Manufacturing Intelligence — This is just the beginning. More to come soon. #Semiconductors #EDA #ChipDesign #AI #DAC #Startup #VLSI #PhysicalDesign #DTCO #DeepTech

Nash Islam liked thisNash Islam liked thisI have a story about Bryan Johnson. Many months ago, I was in the front row of a conference when Bryan came on stage and told us all that we were probably living all wrong. I passed his "stand on one foot" test with flying colors, but when he said that all of us need to get regular sleep every night and asked if anyone did not agree to comply with his demand, I raised my hand. He pointed at me and said: "Why do you think you can't get regular sleep?" "I'm a startup founder, a mom, and I travel a lot." I answered. He said I was wrong. I should make my sleep a priority and I should track what the lack of sleep is doing to my body. Well, he doesn't know that my grandmother is a jubilant, healthy, active 100 years old and I get all my health advice from her, not from guys who look terribly sad and are trying hard to prove something. Her life was more stressful than any of ours, and a few hours of sleep was a luxury when she had 2 little kids and a full time job. So what's her secret to longevity? She lived in Ukraine through WW2, where she and her family were on a list to be executed. Her father was murdered by Stalin. She survived the Ukraine famine, earned the top score in her engineering class, became the head engineer of a large Soviet factory at the age of 21, raised 2 daughters as a single mom, and became one of the most prominent engineers in the USSR. Her secret to a healthy and happy life is first and foremost attitude. She recently told me: "Never be jealous of anyone. Envy will eat your body, mind and soul." Second, she has also always been in touch with her soul and Spirit. She grew up an atheist but she always felt the presence of something greater, which she later called God. Health is so much more complex than the numbers on a test or the images in an MRI. Health is deeply affected by the frequency of your emotions, the lightness of your being, the connection you have to Spirit. You are more than your body and realizing this is the gift we are being given by Bryan going public with his chronic illness. I hope Bryan Johnson gets well, and hope he finds true health in body, mind, and spirit. Based on his recent posts about how he thinks he's going to "solve it," he may have a very long way to go...

Nash Islam reacted on thisNash Islam reacted on thisThis weekend, I had the privilege to attend an Advanced workshop on Product taste by Shreyas Doshi. For folks who know me, they would remember that I am a huge fan of Shreyas, and keep sharing his writings and insights regularly with my team and peers. His writings are always profound and deeply insightful, that when the course came up, I had to signup to learn from him live. The premise was pretty daunting, a 6 hr, intense workshop on Friday night, going on well past midnight. But that became one of the best late nights I have had in a while. The course material is amazing - practical, tangible, and usable in your work life immediately, no matter where you work. But more importantly, the distillation of Product taste, and building an acute sense of what good looks like , are learnings you could take with you in whatever you do. I realized there are so many of those techniques I have seen the best leaders employ implicitly, but also that if you know what you are looking for, it becomes much easier to replicate. Highly recommend the course , if you are a product leader, or working in building products. Thanks to Shreyas and the team for an amazing experience. #KeepLearning #AlwaysAStudent

Five world class product leaders from YouTube, Amazon, Mezmo, Oviva, and Jaide Health joined me to dig into questions PMs everywhere are wrestling with: • What can AI actually do today, and what remains uniquely human • Why judgment, product sense, and user empathy matter more than ever • How evals, context engineering, and model literacy became core PM skills • Why first versions of AI features ship fast, but iteration gets harder • What early and mid career PMs must learn right now to stay relevant One quote that has stayed with me came from Todd at YouTube. “At the end of the day, you still have to make judgment calls. We are not turning that over anytime soon.” This was a one hour+ candid look at what is actually changing, what will stay the same, and how PMs should position themselves for the next decade. Really insightful convo based on in-the-trenches experience on the future of #ProductManagement in an AI world with Todd Beaupré Joe Corkery, MD Lauren Nagel David Nydegger Ramie Abu-Zahra Watch the full video and long form Substack post, filled with examples, stories, and actionable guidance for anyone working in product. If you want to understand where the PM craft is really going, you will get a lot out of it.

For solo founders and small teams, the leverage asymmetry is now absurd. One person in flow can out-ship a committee. The bottleneck moved from "can we build it?" to "do we have the clarity and uninterrupted time to build it?" Protect your focus like it's your most valuable asset. Because it is. #ClaudeCode #Convex #Greptile

I rarely make predictions, but... No company founded after 2026 will organically grow to more than 10k FTEs. The leverage of rapid iterative decision loops by teams using best-in-class AI has reached escape velocity over traditional economies of scale.
