That felt like a strange thing to be blocked by. Adam Halper and I kept coming back to it. Why should the place you film decide where you appear? Why should the outfit you wore on recording day follow you into every video your avatar ever makes? Once we named those constraints, they felt arbitrary. So we removed them. That became Avatar V, the most advanced AI avatar model in the world. Every video you've ever recorded came with baggage. The outfit you happened to be wearing. The background behind you. The lighting in the room. To change any of it, you had to record again. Avatar V separates the performance from the appearance. You record yourself once, naturally. I'd always wondered what this cat-girl character would look like as a sculpture, so I let AI help bring the idea to life. With just one try, I was surprised by the result and by how many little details it added. The only thing it didn't capture was the abstract crown on the girl's head, but I'm still really impressed with the outcome. Here's the workflow: 1️⃣ GPT Image 2: I used my original illustration as a character/style reference and prompted it to create a realistic sculpture. I also rendered a couple of three-quarter views from both sides to check that the geometry was consistent, but I ended up not needing them. Kling handled the animation surprisingly well and kept the sculpture stable throughout. The original illustration and the GPT-generated sculpture are in the comments. This role will focus on web technologies for landing pages, marketing objectives, and making beautiful experiences in our growth ecosystems. Our new in-house, self-serve CMS will empower our growth and sales teams to spin up their own websites and experiments. On the flip side of this coin, I am hiring a web designer to lead art direction for our own web initiatives as well as work on design skills so that our self serve tools can produce that meets our incredibly high standards for craft quality. Sharing some observations from my recent conversations with designers working in large orgs and startups. In a large org, a desinger's primary job is to create polished design, think about how the end user will interact with it etc. & there's usually a clear boundary of ownership between product and design. Whereas, in a startup or a company of a smaller scale, the primary job of a designer is to make sure their work gets prioritized by engineering amidst the 100 other urgent items they're always burdened with. This leads to them thinking about the how and also the why in most cases. The design output in both the cases can/will be different. One designer will try to create a polished design because the architecture and the DS are in place. Whereas, the other designer will try to create a something that ships, which more often than not doesn't lend time to think about the architecture & DS changes. Would love to know your take. How should the two people be viewed in terms or their design strengths etc.
