For years, I've been deep in the world of #observability and #OpenTelemetry, both at Red Hat and Grafana Labs. I've seen its power, but I've also seen a persistent, nagging problem: we're often flying blind when it comes to the quality of our own #telemetry. We generate mountains of data hoping for insights, but so much of it ends up being noise. This 'bad telemetry' doesn't just drive up bills; it burns out engineers and makes it harder to solve real problems. Today, I'm happy to share what we've been building to fix this. My co-founder Yuri Oliveira Sá and I, along with our small, dedicated team, are officially launching OllyGarden. Our mission is to improve the efficiency of telemetry pipelines by helping engineers cultivate better data at the source. And we're not alone on this journey. We're fortunate to be backed by DIG Ventures and some of the most respected leaders and companies in observability who believe in this mission too, like Datadog Ventures, Grafana Labs, and Dash0. This is where I have two small asks: * If you're an observability engineer, SRE, or platform lead who feels this pain, I'd genuinely love to hear from you. Let's see if we can help you find and weed out your bad telemetry. * For everyone else, the best way to support us is to share this with someone you know who's wrestling with this problem. We've written a blog post that goes deep into our story and our vision. The link is in the first comment below. Let's get to work!
Congrats Juraci Paixão Kröhling and Yuri Oliveira Sa - these are exciting times and happy to be a small part of it!
Congrats Juraci Paixão Kröhling Definitely a problem that needs to be addressed! We see the same challenge as organizations are shifting the responsibility of good instrumentation from a handful of vendors and their agents towards the everyday engineer! If there is anything we can do to contribute let us know Grüsse aus Linz
Congratulations Juraci Paixão Kröhling and Yuri Oliveira Sa on the launch! We at DIG Ventures are big believers in OTel and OllyGarden’s mission to make world class instrumentation the default, not the exception, for companies globally. Let’s go!
Congrats Juca! Indeed, one of the big pains to solve in the observability area!
Congrats Juraci and Yuri Oliveira Sa!! A great vision + excellent work = success! Let's work and improve the efficiency of telemetry pipelines! ✨ ✨
Very exciting news, happy to see you launching this :-) Looking forward to see all the impact you will have!
Awesome! Congrats Yuri and Juraci… I wish a big success in this journey :)
Congrats, Juraci Paixão Kröhling and Yuri Oliveira Sa! So excited for your launch and to learn more about what you're growing in that sweet OllyGarden!
Congrats Juraci!!
