"It’s like a book club but with movies," said RPL, in a news release. "Watch the selected film on your own and then join the group for a lively discussion each month. Domestic Abuse in Our Neighborhood: Raising Awareness will be held Thursday, Oct. 8, 2026, at 11 a.m., at People’s United Methodist Church, in Union.

This free community event will bring together local professionals and community voices to raise awareness about domestic abuse and help our neighbors better understand how to recognize abuse, support survivors, and connect people with available resources, according to PUMC, in a news release.

Stephanie Holman, Youth Services Librarian, will lead a program to support readers and researchers with tips and tools to use a public library to its fullest. 

The program will be held Tuesday, Oct. 6, from 4-5 p.m., in the Abbott Room of the Belfast Free Library, 106 High Street, Belfast.
