Danny Sprinkle has seemingly finished replenishing the Washington men’s basketball roster and Wednesday reportedly added Rutgers transfer Harun Zrno to a team that now includes nine newcomers and six holdovers.
Zrno, a 6-foot-7 guard, is a native of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. He played 34 games and made 15 starts as a freshman for the Scarlett Knights last season.
He averaged 6.5 points and 3.4 rebounds while shooting 35.6% from the field and 33.8% on three-pointers and 78.9% on free throws.
Zrno scored a career-high 21 points on Jan. 17 in a 96-87 road loss against Wisconsin while converting 5 of 10 shots, including five three-pointers.
During a 79-72 Washington win on Feb. 24, the Huskies held Zrno to two points on 0-for-3 shooting from the floor in 15 minutes as a starter.
Before joining Rutgers, Zrno played professionally in Bosnia for KK Slavija where he averaged 17.5 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 14 games.
He originally committed to Indiana in March 2025 and rescinded his pledge after Hoosiers coach Mike Woodson was released.
The 22-year-old Zrno is UW’s latest international prospect joining 24-year-old Croatian forward Boris Tisma, 21-year-old Australian guard Tristan Devers and 21-year-old Brazilian forward Wini Braga.
Washington signed transfers LeJuan Watts (Texas Tech), Parker Friedrichsen (Davidson), Steele Venters (Gonzaga) and Ryan Beasley (San Francisco), as well as Mount Si High standout Lattimore Ford.
The Huskies return Wesley Yates, Lathan Sommerville, Nikola Dzepina, Jasir Rencher, Mady Traore and Brandon Roy Jr. from a team that finished 16-17 and tied for 12th in the Big Ten at 7-13.
Washington has the NCAA maximum 15 players on the roster.
On3 was the first to report Zrno is transferring to the Huskies.
UW adds assistant
Sprinkle added longtime NBA assistant coach Charles Klask to his coaching staff, the school announced Wednesday.
The Livonia, Mich., native and Michigan State graduate spent 25 years in the NBA, including the past seven seasons with the Denver Nuggets where he won an NBA championship in 2023.
Klask joins a UW coaching staff that includes Andy Hill, Quincy Pondexter, Abdul Gaddy and recently hired DeAndre Haynes.
