MCP 2026-07-28 is live and it's the largest update to the protocol since launch. MCP is now stateless, making it easier to deploy and scale remote servers. claude.com/blog/bringing-…

We signed the Open Weights and American Leadership letter. More thoughts in my blogpost below in the thread, but openness have always been a core ethos at Netlify and we believe the Western World wins through openness and freedom. aka.ms/OpenLetter

We're giving better defaults and much more control to everyone using our platform today. Now every project starts private by default, and can be published to the whole world with a click. This makes Netlify safe by default for people building internal tools or personal apps.

Every new Netlify project can be private by default. Deploy Previews, branch deploys, and agent run previews too. Build it, iterate on it, and share it when you're ready. There are no passwords to create or rotate. Access follows your Netlify team. ntl.fyi/4yF4CQB

It’s been more than a decade since I built the flow that became Netlify Drop in 2018. @WadeWegner dug through the whole history of Drop through the ages.

In 2020, an internal memo argued we should kill Netlify Drop. In June 2026, more than 60% of new signups made their first deploy with it. @WadeWegner dug through 13 years of commits, memos, and HN threads to tell the whole story: netlify.com/blog/thirteen-…
