    Worth noting that Mamdani has described the pied a terre tax as one on second homes worth over $5 million but neglects to say that condos and co-op second homes with a “market value” of over $1 million are also eligible to be taxed.

    Mayor Mamdani struck a more conciliatory tone today on the pied-a-terre confusion from some homeowners. “I understand the concerns that some New Yorkers have, and they're facing. I know that taxes typically bring more questions than it does bring answers.”
