Deeptech Global Funding Alert - Week 33 Last week, 25 deeptech deals raised $992M, a bit below recent weeks, but still plenty of exciting deals. In China, several Robotics and Semiconductor deals caught attention, though details are scarce (would love your help!). Meanwhile, the World Humanoid Robot Games in Beijing grabbed a lot of attention, watching robots run, compete, and box against each other is wild. No wonder a new Chinese robotics startup seems to appear almost every week. In the US, there were notable Biotech and AI infra deals. More on those below. Celestial AI raised a $255M Series C from VentureTECH and Samsung Catalyst Fund at a $2.5B valuation! They develop photonic interconnect technology that overcomes bandwidth and power bottlenecks in AI infrastructure, enabling faster, more efficient training of ever-larger AI models by seamlessly scaling data transfer from chip-to-chip to server-to-server across data centers. With AI models growing rapidly, Celestial is emerging as a leader in photonic networking. Tahoe Therapeutics raised $30M from Amplify Partners, Databricks Ventures, General Catalyst, Mubadala, and others. They are building the world’s largest single-cell drug-patient dataset, using AI to simulate human biology, accelerate drug discovery, and potentially reshape how clinical trials are run. EDGX founded by Nick Destrycker, raised a $2.6M Seed round from imec.xpand and Flanders Future Tech Fund to advance its onboard AI computing system for satellites. They have also signed a €1.1M commercial deal with a satellite operator and plan their first in-orbit demonstration aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 mission in February 2026.
