'Do not mess with cockroaches': CJP celebrates Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Saturday hailed Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation, calling it a victory for the student-led movement that has been protesting over the alleged NEET paper leak for over a month.

The reaction came soon after Pradhan posted a letter on social media stating that he had submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Speaking about the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Dipke said, "This is democracy. He has resigned, but we have two more demands. We won't go like this. Dharmendra Pradhan has resigned. But the families of the children who committed suicide should receive compensation of one crore rupees. They should get it. One crore rupees compensation to all those families. And second, these police goons who acted on the 20th. Action must be taken against the police officers for that. Remember, do not mess with cockroaches..."

Dipke added, "We have done it. Dharmendra Pradhan has resigned."

"Dharmendra Pradhan has resigned. This is the proof that if you don’t get scared, if you don’t bow down in front of this government, you can take anyone’s resignation. Don’t be scared in democracy," the CJP chief said.

The youth-led party also issued a brief statement on X, saying, "The Education Minister has submitted his resignation. Long live Student Power!"

The resignation comes after weeks of protests led by the CJP at Jantar Mantar, during which the organisation consistently demanded Pradhan's resignation calling it a "non-negotiable" demand.

In a letter posted on X, Pradhan said, "...To ensure that anti-national elements are not benefitted by the situation at Jantar Mantar and across the country, that the nation remains united, students in India do not get tangled in legal complexities and focus on their studies and their career, I have tendered my resignation to the Prime Minister."

Sharing visuals of the celebrations at Jantar Mantar, where the CJP supporters were protesting for weeks, the party said, "This is the victory of the students."

CJP National Spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka welcomed the move, saying Pradhan's resignation shows, "power of a common man."

Sonam Wangchuk responds to Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation

Activist Sonam Wangchuk welcomed Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation, calling it "a victory of democracy" and "direct democracy... straight from the streets."

In a post on X, Wangchuk said the development reflected the power of "peace, patience and perseverance", congratulating the CJP, Gen Z and citizens across the country for standing up against fear. He added that the movement should now shift its focus "from accountability, now to reforms."
