In 2005, Jonas Tellander and Jon Hauksson launched something entirely new: Bokilur. This pioneering audiobook service would later become Storytel 🧡 This year, Storytel celebrated its 20th anniversary at the Bokmässan / Gothenburg Book Fair and both Tellander and Storytel Group CEO Bodil Eriksson Torp were at the fair, combining memories with excitement for the future. 🎧✨

Day 1 at Bokmässan / Gothenburg Book Fair is off to a powerful start! Gymnastik- och idrottshögskolan, GIH (School of Gymnastics and Sports) entered the Storytel stage and shared valuable insights from their study, "Skolprojektet för hjärnhälsa" (School Project for Brain Health). 🧠 This insightful research explores how audiobooks can help tackle critical challenges facing Swedish youth, from declining physical activity to mental well-being and reading comprehension. Some of the findings include: 🧡 22% of the students increased their interest in audiobooks after the project. 🧡 41% actively combined listening with walking or other physical activity in their free time. The powerful connection is captured perfectly in one students' own words: "I usually read at the same time as I listen to hear everything they're saying." 🎧📚 Storytel is proud to be partnering with GIH and we’re happy to learn about how audiobooks can be an important gateway to both a love for stories and a healthier, more active life. 💪
