From 1 October, the UK’s new LHF restrictions will reshape the way brands can advertise HFSS products — banning TV and online ads before 9pm. But what does this really mean for creativity? For Tony Barr, former The Wendy's Company’s CMO, the shift is fundamental: “Creativity becomes the new media spend; brand without product is the new creative brief.” With traditional levers restricted, the industry must lean harder into storytelling, brand building, and cultural relevance. Industry execs share caution and possibility. Hear from Ed Palmer, St Luke's London; Conrad Persons, Grey London; Richard Arscott, Revolt; Andy Jex, TBWA\London; Sue Frogley, Talon; and Richard Lindsay, IPA (Institute of Practitioners in Advertising). If your marketing model doesn't have creativity at its core... what's the point? Our Managing Director Jonny Tennant-Price explores why future‑fit marketing models must be built around creativity — not as an afterthought, but as the organising principle. Key takeaways from the piece: Creativity is the multiplier, it doesn’t just make work memorable, it makes every pound of media spend work harder. Data and tech are enablers, not the destination, they should serve the idea, not replace it. Short-termism is the enemy of brand building, the most valuable brands invest in ideas that last. Future‑fit means human‑fit marketing that connects emotionally will always outperform marketing that only optimises mechanically. If we strip creativity out of our models, we strip out the meaning and the competitive advantage. Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/gw5UTUdA

I have long been a fan of Helen Rhodes - and now Grey London is lucky enough to have her all to ourselves. Behind the puns and portmanteaus is one of the hungriest leaders I know, behind the humility and generosity is one of the most ambitious people I have yet to meet. Thanks to Campaign UK for a peek inside the mind of my ridiculously talented partner.
