"The CEO is not the most senior manager in an agency. The CEO is now chief change officer...I think it’s quite freeing to think about the role of the CEO this way. Because if it’s our job to embrace change wholeheartedly, then we’re forced to accept it, rather than keep it at arms length. We have to confront it, work it out, create strategies for riding it, and maybe even develop a genuine love for it. Surely, that has to be the fully self-actualised end goal?"   • The very last Creator session at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 🦁🎤 Rotonde stage in the Palais. Full house. No easy feat after lunchtime on a Friday. But Crystal Malachias, our client Carly Burford from Peroni Nastro Azzurro and Creator and Comedian Adam W. gave the audience every reason to stay seated — and stay engaged. Together, they tackled a question many brands are quietly worrying about: Are we losing control of our brand on social? The answer is yes, many brands are. In a fast-moving conversation that cut through the noise, they shared what happens when brands chase clout instead of clarity. Why trying to be your audience’s ‘bestie’ usually backfires. And how creators, when approached with strategy and respect, can elevate a brand — not unravel it. Our queen of all things influencer, Crystal Malachias, pointed out that "Creators are brands too, so when you are working with them, you have to think about it as a collaboration between a brand and a brand. This changes the way you integrate the two in an authentic and entertaining way." We were proud to close the week with this conversation, bridging the gap between brand, creator and culture in the way only McCann Content Studios can.
