I'm working on some new Kubernetes security features at , to help find and fix security issues in your configs. I'm looking for folks who would be interested in early access in exchange for letting me know what you think. Interested? Send me a DM.

Anyone want help with Conftest related talks let me know. I did two popular talks in Barcelona and San Diego, I’d love to see some end user stories this time around.

Last day before a week of holiday. I’ll miss not being able to go away (seriously missing hills at this point) but still super important to take time away from work I reckon.

This is a good warning to anyone early in your career who spends time criticising names. This is your fate.

This is a super interesting announcement for a bunch of inside baseball reasons . I think It says a lot about how, and how quickly, VMware's strategy around open source and Kubernetes has changed.

We're coming to the end of the first day of being live. So far we've had around 300,000 visitors to the new website checking out the lessons. Going from nothing to a site serving that many people, in a matter of days was a challenge. Here are a few lessons learnt!

How cool. The YAML language server powering all of the autocomplete features in all of those editors uses my Kubernetes JSON schemas under the hood

Y'all wouldn't happen to know who owns this account, would you? RT for reach? I appreciate it *and* I think it could be even more useful.

This leads to early alignment on, or at least mutual understanding of, domain models. Then anyone who knows a bit of the domain model should be able to go ask and answer questions of that model, decoupled from the need to go back to ask for hyper specific instrumentation.

Product folks should be focused on answering specific questions. Too often that means conversations about very specific business logic instrumentation. Instead, decouple collection from questions. Focus with developers on data. Then have a nice data warehouse spelunking platform.

I now have a GitHub Action that generates another workflow file in the same repo, then drops a file to trigger the second Action. Seems to work nicely.

Obviously everything is serverless now which is great. But I still managed to run out of disk space in GitHub Actions.

Also, share more graphs. Engineers are suckers for a good data story. Also it suggests you care about the outcome, not just the output, of a feature. Assuming you look at those graphs again obviously.

So, lots of thoughts here (unsurprising right?). I’ll go with two for now. Product folks should think more about the operational cost of running services, and the operational overhead of adding new features. How do you measure that?

Fairly depressing reading all the comments around this tweet. Regulation around programming is probably inevitable, and potentially a good thing. Ignoring the possibility means you won’t be part of the debate.

In none-computer news. Escape the Dark Castle is great. Superbly balanced, works solo or in a small group. I've lost three games and I'm still enjoying it.

Go a quick demo of and working nicely together. A GitHub Action to generate the templates using and build the image using . Flux then picks up the change when the Action commits the generated template (including image hash).
