  • Zhu Yiming is the chairman of Shanghai-listed memory chip giant CXMT, which raised in July 2026 $8.6 billion in one of the largest listings in Asia ever.
  • The company, also known as Changxin Memory Technologies, is the world's fourth largest producer of DRAM chips by market share, after Samsung, SK Hynix and Micro, according to Counterpoint Research.
  • Zhu is also the chairman of Shenzhen-listed GigaDevice Semiconductor, a supplier of flash memory chips.
  • With support from the Hefei municipal government, he cofounded CXMT in 2016 amid China's drive to control AI and semiconductor supply chains.
  • Before returning to China in 2005, the U.S.-trained mogul worked for iPolicy Networks and Monolithic System Technologies in Silicon Valley.
