Heet Kotak shared thisGreat to see our team's work highlighted here. Building products at TikTok means collaborating with engineers and cross-functional partners who genuinely care about the details, from the architecture to the impact. Excited to keep learning and shipping!Heet Kotak shared thisEnabling research responsibly starts with a hard question: how do we increase transparency without compromising trust? For our engineers, the answer isn’t about sharing more data. It’s about designing systems that protect people by default. With our Research Tools, approved researchers can explore content trends and platform impact using aggregated insights, while raw data remains securely within our systems. This work goes beyond infrastructure. It’s about building privacy into the foundation and using secure, open-source tools to support meaningful, independent research at global scale. This is how we build technology users can trust, where transparency and privacy move forward together. Build responsibly. Scale thoughtfully. Join us. 👉https://brnw.ch/21wZTsW #LifeatTikTok

Heet Kotak shared thisOnwards and upwards for Plum!Heet Kotak shared thisMeet Plum from #Surge04. Founders Abhishek Poddar and & Saurabh Arora are reinventing how group health insurance works in #India by making it affordable and accessible for businesses of all sizes. Starting from as little as $10 per year per person. They've just raised $4.1 million and are scaling rapidly. 🚀 Over 50 million Indians fall into poverty each year because of the inability to finance health issues. “One critical illness can make a family fall below the poverty line. Plum has reimagined the traditional space of health insurance to make it affordable, simple & comprehensive" says Abhishek Poddar. Indian companies and SMEs find the process of purchasing and setting up health insurance tedious, expensive and time consuming. Plum provides flexibility, customisation and a high-quality experience all in one simple platform. India has one of the lowest global penetration rates for health insurance. Plum has seen 200% quarter-on-quarter growth, securing US $1 million worth of insurance premiums within the first three quarters of launch. The platform is currently used by over 200 companies. Can’t wait to see Plum grow and help millions of employees around India. #GetReadyToSurge https://lnkd.in/gNcmR8A #healthcare #insurance #healthinsurance #startup

Heet Kotak shared thisAfter an amazing internship as part of the Monetization Strategy Team at ByteDance, I am joining Plum as part of their Growth Team. India has a population of 1.3 Bn, of which the bottom 500 Mn have health coverage through various government schemes and Ayushman Bharat. Of the remaining 800 Mn, not more than 100 Mn are be able to afford health insurance on their own. That leaves approximately 700 Mn people uncovered — the missing middle. Plum wants to bring affordable employer-sponsored health insurance to India’s missing middle. I cannot be happier to be part of the solution! For all companies looking to provide health benefits to their employees, do check out https://lnkd.in/duarHTZ or you can directly reach me at heet@plumhq.com!

Heet Kotak reacted on thisHeet Kotak reacted on thisI was a founding member at Plum Insurance, and it slow-tracked my career. Okay, but first some back story: I started my career as a finance associate at a Dubai-based MNC. It was a super structured role. In fact, they even had set processes for talking to clients, writing emails, +++ So if I just followed the process and achieved my set KPIs, I’d become a senior associate, then a manager, and life would be set. ✅ However, In 2021, I quit that job & joined Plum Insurance. Now the thing about startups, especially early-stage ones, is that there are no structures. Nobody tells you what your KPIs are. Teams are just thrown problem statements like “We have a lot of customers churning. How do we solve that?” And operating like that is tough - definitely tougher than following set structures. But that experience also taught me the most. I think early-stage teams are the best place to be at if you want to build a fast-growing career. & I am so glad I got the chance to experience it with Plum. 💛 Also remembering my Plum friends today - Abhishek, Rohit, Hiren, Prerit, Krutika, Ayushi & Anoushka. I was lucky to build alongside you all :)

Heet Kotak liked thisHeet Kotak liked thisFIFA World Cup 2026 on TikTok is a wrap! 🏆⚽ Over the past few months, I got to work closely with our content and creators teams to bring the tournament to people worldwide. Our goal from day one was for TikTok to be the platform where people come to talk about the World Cup. This team achieved many times over, with over a trillion views! A few things I loved about this one: • Watching TikTok change the lives of teams and athletes overnight. The story of Vozinha and Cape Verde was my favorite of the tournament. • Our FIFA hub is beautifully designed, and the serious effort across Product, Eng, and Ops really paid off. • Seeing how much of this relied on trust. The best athlete partnerships were the ones we built strong personal relationships with. A huge thanks to everyone who made this happen! Eva Peng Xiangning FANG Rollo Goldstaub Julia White Brett L. Heet Kotak liked thisHeet Kotak liked thisI applied to 271 jobs to end up exactly where I wanted to be. I'm starting a new chapter at Adobe as a Principal Product Marketing Manager on the Acrobat team! My focus is retention: helping the people who already rely on Acrobat get more value from their subscription over time. The timing couldn't be better – Acrobat is already so much more than "the PDF app." With Acrobat Studio, AI Assistant, and PDF Spaces, it's an AI-powered platform for how people work with, create, and share documents and ideas. Huge thanks to Liz Walsh and Aude Guerin for welcoming me onto the Acrobat PMM team. Getting to shape retention on a product at this scale, through a customer-value lens, is exactly the kind of work I love. Shoutout to my Express GTM crew, Shaun Pallardy, Jorge Pelaez, and Jane Xiang, for welcoming me with open arms. Shaun, thank you for advocating for me, and all three of you for teaching this PMM a whole lot about GTM strategy. I'm glad we'll still get to work closely together in my new role – Acrobat Express, let's go! The road here wasn't a straight line. If you're in the middle of your own search, hang in there. I'm excited to dive into the work... and just as excited to keep helping other people get where they want to go.

Heet Kotak liked thisHeet Kotak liked thisGlad to announce that our paper, “MM-BizRAG: Rethinking Multimodal Retrieval-Augmented Generation for General Purpose Enterprise Q&A,” has been published in the ACL 2026 Industry Track! Paper: https://lnkd.in/eHUSNHK7 This work explores how multimodal RAG systems can better handle complex enterprise documents such as reports, slide decks, PDFs, DOCX files, and HTML pages containing text, tables, images, and rich layouts. Instead of relying only on page-level images, MM-BizRAG uses a structure-aware approach that adapts ingestion based on document type, explicitly preserves layout and artifact alignment, and assembles richer multimodal context at inference time. The paper also introduces FastRAGEval, an efficient LLM-as-a-judge metric for evaluating generative recall. A huge thank you to my amazing co-authors and MLCOE, JPMorgan Chase for all the collaboration and effort that went into this work. I won’t be attending ACL 2026 in person, but my co-authors Hanoz Bhathena and Rohan Mittal will be presenting this work at the poster session. Looking forward to the discussions and feedback from the community! #ACL2026 #NLP #RAG #MultimodalAI #EnterpriseAI #LLM #MachineLearning #AppliedAI

Heet Kotak reacted on thisHeet Kotak reacted on thisOne thing I've realized over the last few years is that building great technology is only part of the job. As AI reshapes every industry, technology leaders are increasingly expected to think about business strategy, governance, enterprise transformation, product innovation, and organizational change, not just engineering. With that in mind, I'm excited to begin the IIM Kozhikode Chief Technology and AI Officer Programme at Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode, complemented by executive certificate courses from Kellogg Executive Education and delivered in collaboration with Emeritus. I'm looking forward to deepening my understanding of enterprise AI strategy, technology leadership, AI governance, digital transformation and executive communication, while learning alongside an accomplished cohort of technology leaders who are driving similar transformations in their organizations. A special thank you to Shailesh, Sandeep, Itti Singh and Jayesh for your guidance, encouragement, and mentorship. Your perspectives and support played a significant role in helping me make this decision, and I'm grateful to have such inspiring leaders to learn from. Also, a shoutout to Aditya from Emeritus for making the enrollment process smooth and for patiently answering all my questions along the way. Looking forward to the next 12 months of learning, challenging my perspectives, and bringing those learnings back to the teams and products I work with.

A core emotion I feel as a product designer is: design joy. The joy experienced while thinking deeply about problems, building a thorough understanding, finding ways to solve them and crafting experiences - for real people. The joy experienced when what you’ve designed, meaningfully helps and delights people in their everyday life. But there are barriers to feeling this joy fully: Creating thoughtful, well-designed user experiences requires defining not only how the product looks but also how it works. Today, we do this in different tools. They need to happen in the same tool. To be able to do that, we cannot continue to work in the reality that design and the medium of the product (code) are different things. They need to be the same thing. We have been building a tool that lets you do all of this. Built by product designers, for product designers. Introducing: Noon. A new home for product designers - where you will truly experience design joy. For a world with well designed products. For the people who use them. Proud to share that we are backed by several design legends and renowned investors. From studying design together, to building the product design tool of the future - it has been an incredible journey working with Kushagra Sinha and Aditya Bandi, and we’re just getting started. I consider myself very lucky to be working with the Noon team - they’re a joyful, merry crew! Can’t wait to share more with you soon. Read more here: noon.design

A Harvard MBA sits in a Manhattan office with one job: read CEO earnings calls and short any stock where the CEO blames the weather. I heard this on the 01 by Zerodha podcast with Aadit Palicha, hosted by Shivank Joshi, and it introduced me to something even more interesting - "slipstream opportunities." 🪽 Think of it like birds flying in formation. The lead bird creates a vacuum that makes it easier for others to follow. When Amazon was scaling, entire ecosystems emerged around it - payment gateways, logistics partners, analytics tools. They rode Amazon's slipstream to build massive businesses. Aadit shared something that made me sit up: Quick commerce is creating similar slipstream opportunities right now in India. Here are the gaps he's seeing: 🔸 Fruits & Vegetables supply chain infrastructure Most of what works in the US, Japan, and Europe simply doesn't exist here. Forward buying, hedging, ripening accuracy, quantity control - we're operating like we did 70 years ago. There's a massive opportunity to digitize and industrialize the F&V supply chain. 🔸 Quick commerce advertising agencies Zepto alone is doing ₹1000+ crores in ad revenue. The advertising stack for quick commerce is completely different from traditional e-commerce. Brands need consultants who understand this new channel. In 5 years, there will be billions of dollars flowing through quick commerce ads. 🔸 Dark store franchises A well-run franchise can generate ₹1-1.5 lakhs per month in net income. The platform brings millions of customers on day one. The insight that hit me: In the US and China, 90% of ad dollars are performance-oriented. In India? Only 40%. That 50% gap represents billions sitting in billboards and IPL campaigns that could move to platforms where you can measure every rupee spent. When a category leader is moving fast, the real alpha isn't competing with them. It's building the picks and shovels. What slipstream opportunities are you seeing in your industry? https://lnkd.in/dPfRASXC

Some products make things faster. Some make things easier. And some come along and expose just how broken the baseline was. Some things are broken for so long, you forget they're broken. You work around it, you ship around it, you design around it. At Noon, we refused to. I joined in October 2025. It started with a Monday morning call from Manish S Sugandhi, someone I'd crossed paths with before, about something that was just starting to take shape. A conversation with founders Aditya Bandi and Kushagra Sinha followed, and a product vision so clear it was almost unfair. Here's the problem Noon is solving: Product designers have been building in a mirror dimension. Their tools let them design the form pixels, layouts, prototypes, but not the function. Then a developer rebuilds the whole thing from scratch. Intent leaks at every step. What ships is a remake, not the original. Noon is the first dual-canvas where design and code live in the same world. You design how a product looks AND how it works, directly on production code. The canvas and the code are the same artifact. No handoffs. No translations. No "that's not what I designed." This is what we've been building. Quietly. With a team that genuinely believes this changes how software gets made. Today we come out of stealth. $44M raised. Backed by Chemistry, First Round, Scribble Ventures, SV Angel, Afore Capital, and Elevation Capital. If you're a designer or a developer, stay tuned, something big on its way. Early access at https://www.noon.design/ 🚀

Most D2C brands are leaking money through logistics (we were too) but this one change reduced our RTO risk by 30% without spending a rupee more. At Tittertots, we analyzed our returns (RTO) by pincode expecting randomness. What we found instead was this: RTO wasn’t random. It was clustered. A few regions were responsible for most of our losses. -Maharashtra → highest volume leakage -Uttar Pradesh (T2/T3 cities)→ highest risk -North-East → unpredictable deliveries And here’s the bigger insight: We weren’t losing money because of couriers. We were losing money because we were treating every order the same. So we changed 3 things: We stopped assigning one courier for all orders: Prepaid - Delhivery High-risk COD - Blue Dart We introduced friction where it mattered -COD confirmation/only Prepaid in risky regions -Small COD fee to filter low-intent buyers We started segmenting customers by intent Repeat customers → faster, smoother delivery First-time COD in risky zones → stricter checks and that’s it. No new tools. No big tech overhaul. Just better decisions. The result? -Lower RTO -Better cash flow -More predictable operations The biggest lesson for me: In D2C, growth doesn’t come from doing more. It comes from doing the same things intelligently. #COD #RTO #Logistics #prepaid #orders #d2c #operations #profitability #data #tittertots

“There is no insulation to layoffs, no matter where you are.” “I have an MBA, and I’ve been laid off 3 times,” Aakash Shah told me. Last week at Product Coffee, I asked Product Coffee how much secondary education really impacts job security in today’s economy. The answers were eye-opening. One of my favorites came from Steve Johnson, who shared that the first person he ever hired didn’t even have a college degree. “I couldn’t care less if he passed Western Civ!” Obviously, an MBA can open doors—through networking, structured learning, and credibility (if you can afford it in this economy). But it’s reassuring to hear that a successful, long-lasting career in product management doesn’t follow one specific roadmap, and education is only one piece of the puzzle. That’s the beauty of this community. Every week, I get to swap stories, trade perspectives, and learn from product managers who are navigating the same challenges—whether it’s layoffs, big career moves, or just finding the next step. #ProductManagers, do you have an MBA as a product manager? How has it helped or hurt you in your career?
