Mahmoud Alzaghari reposted thisMahmoud Alzaghari reposted this2 years ago I left my job, my life in NYC, and the US. Tbh, I thought moving to Sweden would be a career sacrifice. Turns out, it was one of the best decisions! Building Strawberry is the most exciting work of my career yet. The team, product, and amazing customers get me fired up every day. Many customers have been rightfully skeptical of AI tools that promise the world but don’t deliver. I love seeing them light up when they try Strawberry and FINALLY feel that they have a product that “just works” and meets them where they are. A browser is the best place to work with state-of-the-art AI agents for most of us, because 1. You don’t need to learn a new tool: we already spend most of our day in a browser. 2. Agents need context and tools to get real work done. The browser has both. Working with agents doesn’t have to feel daunting. Just hop into Strawberry and ask your agent how it can help you out. Big things coming later this summer so stay tuned ☀️

Mahmoud Alzaghari reposted thisMahmoud Alzaghari reposted this"Excited, anxious, invigorated." That's how one engineering leader described going AI-native. We asked 218 others how they feel. The results? Remarkably consistent: "Insecurity, mistrust, hope." "Optimistic, excited, threatened." It's the same people, holding many feelings at once. That's the baseline running through our new report, The State of AI-Native Engineering in 2026, co-authored with Vinay Perneti and Emma Webb.

For Day 4 of launch week, we're releasing AI cost optimization intelligence: a complete breakdown of your ROI across every AI tool your team is running. Here's what it does: → Output per AI dollar by tool or person → Identify which tool is giving the greatest return → Benchmarked against 500+ companies 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 The best teams in our network generate 4X more output per AI dollar than the worst. The difference isn't budget it's tool selection and how they're being used. See exactly what's working and what's bloat with Weave - https://lnkd.in/eTaqPgXX

Mahmoud Alzaghari shared thisSince everyone's throwing out predictions, here's mine: 2026 is the year we'll see "Compute Allocator" as a role We're already seeing insane levels of token spend per eng at the frontier. Boris Cherny mentioned on Lenny Rachitsky's podcast that the team is seeing some eng spend $100K+/month on tokens. This tracks with what we're seeing at Augment. Our top users across self-serve and enterprise are continually spending more MoM. And it's only going to grow as engineers manage more agents with more powerful models. Here's how I see it playing out: - Cutting-edge AI companies won't limit it at all. Frontier model access becomes a perk. E.g. Anthropic, Augment, Cursor, OpenAI, etc. - Companies adopting AI will start setting spend limits. The smart ones will allocate more to their top performers. - Big tech gives everyone the same limits first, figures it out later. - This starts showing up in VC rounds. You're not just budgeting for eng comp anymore, you're budgeting for eng comp + token cost. As engineers prove output, they'll get more tokens. Which probably also means higher pay. Cost of eng talent over the next 1-2 years is going to keep shooting up. If you thought cost of eng talent was insane in 2025, buckle up for an insane year

Mahmoud Alzaghari shared thisIn the age of AI agents, the question "What do you do here" is going to get asked a lot. Team cooked with this video! Try out Intent today

Mahmoud Alzaghari reposted thisMahmoud Alzaghari reposted thisIntent is our vision for what comes after the IDE. AI has changed how we build software. But, it’s also made our workflows messier. One agent is great. Two work. Past that, things fall apart fast. Prompts go stale, context lives everywhere, and you end up spending more time on the tedious work of orchestrating agents. The bottleneck isn’t writing code anymore. It’s keeping the agents aligned. That’s why we built Intent. Intent is now live in public beta. Start building today → www.augmentcode.com/intent

Mahmoud Alzaghari shared thisSo proud of the team for shipping Augment Context Engine MCP. Since joining Augment we've consistently heard the same thing. People are in love with our context engine, but still want to test out the newest coding experiences. You can now bring Augment's intelligence to any coding experience you're using. I'm most excited about pairing Claude Code with this new MCP. We're seeing 2x faster task completion. Try it in February and get 1000 free MCP tool calls!Mahmoud Alzaghari shared thisToday we’re launching Context Engine MCP. After 1,000s of beta testers and overwhelming feedback, it’s now available to anyone. Ever watched your agent in Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex miss the right files, grep endlessly, or hallucinate changes? Context Engine gives your agent semantic understanding of your repo — so it finds the right context instantly. We evaluated agents on a real-world task: take a natural language prompt and ship a complete PR. The dataset: 300 Elasticsearch PRs, each with 3 different prompts, for 900 attempts total. Context Engine MCP improved performance across every dimension. Works with any MCP agent. Remote or local.

Mahmoud Alzaghari shared thisWe've tested GPT-5.2, and it was the best model for Augment Code Review. You can try it today!Mahmoud Alzaghari shared thisGPT-5.2 is now rolling out to everyone. This is our most capable model series yet for professional knowledge work. We designed GPT-5.2 to unlock even more economic value for people. It’s better at creating spreadsheets, building presentations, writing code, perceiving images, understanding long contexts, using tools, and handling complex, multi-step projects. Overall, GPT-5.2 brings significant improvements in general intelligence, long-context understanding, agentic tool-calling, and vision—making it better at executing complex, real-world tasks end-to-end than any previous model. In ChatGPT, GPT-5.2 Instant, Thinking, and Pro will roll out today to all users. In the OpenAI API, they are available now to all developers. https://lnkd.in/g_bYbUB9

Mahmoud Alzaghari reposted thisMahmoud Alzaghari reposted thisI use AI to write code and to review code, it's annoying that I need two subscriptions for these :-/ It's great to see Augment Code offer both in one package, now that their code review feature is GA. Previously, it was only available to enterprise customers. I have been testing it for a few days and here are my first impressions. 1) It's less noisy. The problem with most AI code reviewers is that they pick up too many trivial things like linting. Augment Code doesn't. 2) It understands the whole codebase well. It looks at the whole codebase, not just individual files. And it checks the versions of my dependencies, so it doesn't shout about patched vulnerabilities from previous versions. 3) It identifies useful problems - e.g. security vulnerabilities, missing null checks/edge cases, calling functions with incorrect arguments, performance issues and many more. Overall, I find most of the issues it flags are relevant and actionable. Which is exactly what I want from an AI code reviewer. Of course, I still review the changes myself because it helps me maintain an up-to-date mental model of my system and what it does. Instead, I treat it as an assistant, just as I do with the AI that wrote the code. Thank you to Augment Code for letting me review their AI code reviewer during the private beta, and for sponsoring this post. I built an AI code reviewer myself and fully appreciate how tough it is to do it well. So well done to their team for pulling it off! Find out more here 👉 https://fandf.co/4oP1onL

Mahmoud Alzaghari liked thisMahmoud Alzaghari liked thisThe offer started at $365k. It closed at $425k. Same company, same role, same candidate. This is a real Stripe senior software engineer offer case study via Levels.fyi. The offer increased by a total of $60k through negotiations to $425k for the first year. Base is the obvious component to negotiate, and it can move more significantly depending on company. For this Stripe engineer, it moved by $10k. In other data points, an AMD engineer went from $200K to $240K, a Walmart senior SWE from $197K to $215K. But the base is often the hardest lever, given its cash and recurring. Sign-ons and equity, on the other hand, are much easier to move and are usually where offers grow. In this case, from $0 to $50k in sign on. If you’ve already made it to the offer stage and have proven yourself as a valuable addition to the team, sign-ons (which are a one-time commitment) make fiscal sense from the company’s perspective. Interviewing or evaluating an offer yourself? The Levels.fyi negotiation service connects you with real recruiters to guide you through your conversations end to end. With over $100M+ in outcomes negotiated, and a minimum increase guarantee it's one of our most loved services, and something people tell us they wish they found earlier in their process. Building this early is a first for me & I wouldn’t have it any other way, especially with the people on the team. In the past week+ some loose change: - first ever offsite. s/o Maya A. & Joowon Kim for planning. - Melius launched officially (🎉 3.5M+ views) !! - shipped & tinkered a home, template, & playground experience. feeling grateful. I’ve learned so much, even changing the way I design now. I hardly even touch Figma anymore. (btw Jake paul posted us on X 🥸)

Mahmoud Alzaghari liked thisMahmoud Alzaghari liked thisPrediction: within 12 months, most companies will have “anti-slop” policies. Great example here from Alex Cohen It’s great to use LLMs as *inputs* - to brainstorm ideas, to critique, to write first drafts. But when you use them to generate *outputs* - strategy docs, PRDs, sales decks - you get very bad outcomes. It’s not just that they waste the reader’s time. Even worse, it means the writer hasn’t grappled with the topic as deeply and probably understands it less well. Over time, the company gets slower and dumber. The antibodies to slop are forming rapidly, and most companies will begin to formalize them.

Mahmoud Alzaghari liked thisMahmoud Alzaghari liked thisOne thing I’ve learned as a founder: the best offer negotiations start long before the offer is made. Early on, it’s easy to think about offers like a negotiation strategy. What number do we start with? How much room do we leave? What are we willing to move to? But over time, I’ve come to believe that’s the wrong starting point. At Juicebox we try to make the offer we genuinely want the candidate to accept. Not the lowest offer we think they might take. Not an offer designed to create room for back-and-forth. An offer that reflects our conviction in the person, the role we believe they can play, and what we’ve learned actually matters to them. And I think that tradeoff is worth it. Because the offer process is not just about compensation. It’s one of the first real moments where a company shows they understand what's important for candidate. Do we listen? Do we understand what matters to them? Do we treat them fairly when we have leverage? The relationship you build with someone matters more than winning the negotiation. If a candidate feels understood, valued, and respected before they join, they’re much more likely to start with trust, excitement, and conviction.

That list of 200 contacts you're planning to tap for deal flow? You'll burn through your best ones in year one. This catches almost every new studio operator off guard. The warm introductions dry up. The "just reaching out" emails stop getting responses. The network that felt infinite suddenly has edges. **Why this matters:** Sustainable deal flow requires systems, not rolodexes. The operators who avoid this trap build sourcing infrastructure early — content that attracts, events that convene, partnerships that generate. They treat their personal network as a bridge, not a foundation. If your year-two pipeline depends entirely on your year-one relationships, you're already in trouble. The question isn't "who do I know?" It's "what system will generate opportunities I don't yet know about?"

You’re already bleeding pipeline. Not because your product’s wrong. Because your GTM plays are 3 years out of date. The best teams aren’t “doing more calls” They’re running engineering-grade sales motions that: • Only target accounts that are real this week. • Rewrite messaging before buyers tune out. • Rescue deals before the flatline. • Hit warm paths before cold. If you’re not: ⚡Mapping every account to your network before you touch it… ⚡Auto-refreshing your TAM weekly from live signals… ⚡Letting AI fix missing qual data in your pipeline… …you’re competing with one hand tied. Here are the 9 GTM Engineering plays you’ve wanted for years (but thought were impossible). They’re running now in the fastest-growing teams: 1️⃣ Living TAM — dead accounts never even make the list. 2️⃣ Warm paths before cold — 3–4× open rates. 3️⃣ Self-healing qualification — forecast-grade without babysitting reps. 4️⃣ Follow-up that feels handcrafted — closes like it, too. 5️⃣ Pipeline movement, not reviews — deals rescued in real time. 6️⃣ Time GTM to buyer intent — meetings at 2× normal rates. 7️⃣ Messaging that rewrites itself — stays sharp every week. 8️⃣ Multi-thread before single-thread — fewer collapse risks. 9️⃣ Zero-context-loss handoffs — retention starts day one. This isn’t “someday tech.” It's Clay. It’s just not in your stack yet. 💬 Which one would make you money this month? P.S. Agree? Repost to share with your network ♻️. And follow Jay Mount for more insights like this.
