J'espère que cette saison vous a plu, et merci pour les écoutes pour les épisodes de l'année!Jean-Baptiste Kempf a partagé ceciClap de fin pour la saison 1 ! 🎬 L'épisode 32 de À la French est en ligne, et c'est l'heure du grand bilan. Quelle aventure ! Après 32 épisodes intenses à décortiquer la tech, l'infrastructure et les enjeux de souveraineté, on se pose pour un ultime récapitulatif avant la pause. Dans cet épisode de clôture, on regarde dans le rétroviseur et on débriefe tout : ✨ Nos moments forts : De la masterclass de Yann Le Cun sur l'IA à notre échange inattendu avec Laurent Fressinet sur les échecs, sans oublier la souveraineté des OS mobiles avec Gaël Duval. 🔥 L'actu qui secoue : Les ondes de choc géopolitiques des modèles "Fable" et "Mythos", la crise interminable de la RAM, et les levées de fonds astronomiques (et presque surréalistes) qui continuent de pleuvoir, mais d’où sort tout cet argent? ⚡ Les fameux coups de gueule : Le gaspillage financier des grands projets informatiques d'État (Louvois, Siren, Cassiopée...) a encore frappé, et JB n'a pas mâché ses mots. Mais ce qu'on retient surtout de cette saison, c'est l'impact direct dans l'écosystème. Savoir que notre épisode "CTO to CEO" a concrètement poussé plusieurs d'entre vous à franchir le pas et à fonder votre propre boîte, et notre épisode sur les Datacenters dans l’espace à poussé des ingénieurs à faire leur thèse sur le sujet, c'est notre plus belle récompense. Et l'énergie incroyable que vous nous avez transmise lors de notre premier enregistrement en live avec la communauté au Neon Noir le mois dernier nous confirme qu'on est sur la bonne voie. On prépare déjà la Saison 2. Au programme : des incursions du côté de l'ingénierie nucléaire, de la biochimie et de la géopolitique. Pour résumer la suite en trois mots : Grandeur, Confiance, et Raffinement. Jean-Baptiste Kempf a partagé ceciA couple of months ago, we ported and published VLC to the new Vega OS of the Amazon FireTV, which are not running Android anymore. It is based on libVLC4 (in preview), with the QML interface adapted to big screens are remote. So that you can still play local files and network streams on the new FireTV. It has a custom Qt backend plugin, hardware decoding acceleration and all the codecs that VLC supports usually. Parce qu’elles ont été faites « à la Française ». Ce mélange subtil entre grandeur, profondeur, liberté, pragmatisme et communs numériques. VOD — New TUNE-VMAF mode delivering ~10-15% VMAF BD-rate improvement (with minimal loss in PSNR and SSIM), along with speed/quality tradeoff gains across presets. Also introduces the long-awaited single-thread encoding mode. RTC — Significant speedups, tradeoff improvements across presets, and CBR rate control with cyclic refresh and frame re-encode. On-the-fly preset, bitrate, and frame rate changes are now supported, along with LTR reference frame management. ARM — New 8-bit NEON forward transforms, SVE2 VMAF kernels, and hardware CRC-32C for hash-based ME. Along with multiple bug fixes, code cleanups, and documentation improvements. On a souvent tendance à lire sur les réseaux que la France "régule" et n'innove pas. Alors qu'on voit tout le contraire dans notre quotidien. Derrière cette stat, c'est 10M€ investis, avec derrière une communauté de plus de 1600 sociétés qui se croisent et s'épaulent. Jean-Baptiste Kempf a aimé ceciJean-Baptiste Kempf a aimé ceciVraiment intéressante, cette idée de Yann LeCun consistant à construire un modèle d'IA ouvert et partagé, développé collectivement par de nombreux pays, universités, entreprises et laboratoires, plutôt que de laisser une seule entreprise (ou un oligopole d'entreprises, suivez mon regard) en détenir le contrôle. L'idée c'est que chacun contribue à l'entraînement du modèle, par définition très puissant, tout en conservant la maîtrise de ses propres données et la possibilité de créer ensuite sa propre version locale. L'expérience montre qu'on ne rattrappe pas en copiant ses compétiteurs, ou alors à un coût très élevé, mais que les stratégies alternatives sont souvent plus efficaces (open source pour la Chine par exemple) https://lnkd.in/eNaK4crz
