Last week, we hosted community dialogues in both Qeqertarsuaq and Ilulissat as part of our 𝗡𝘂𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗽𝘂𝘁 𝗡𝘂𝗮𝗻 project. 💬 The project aims to work toward better tourism and to include the local communities of Kalaallit Nunaat in the conversation about responsible tourism development. In these community dialogues, we invited the residents to share their thoughts on what makes a good place to live, their visions for the future, how they can contribute to that vision, and their experiences with tourism this past summer. We also met with local unions, organizations, and the municipal office to deepen the conversation and gather broader perspectives. The overall goal is to develop best practices for community inclusion in tourism. On this trip to North Greenland, our approach was guided by the values of open dialogue – where curiosity, listening, and recognition build mutual understanding and respect. Our next destination is Kangerlussuaq, where we look forward to continuing the dialogue and hearing from the local community. #KalaallitNunaat

The largest travel trade show in the Nordic region, Vestnorden, is underway in Akureyri, Iceland! 🇫🇴🇮🇸🇬🇱 We’re proud to see up to 36 Greenlandic companies from the tourism sector actively participating to promote collaboration and strengthen business relationships, internally and with international partners. Organized by NATA - North Atlantic Tourism Association, Vestnorden brings together tourism operators from the Faroe Islands, Iceland, and Greenland for valuable meetings with travel agents from around the world. As tradition, we hosted the annual Greenland Operators Night on Monday, bringing together the Greenlandic tourism industry. This year’s program highlighted collaboration, coordination, and priorities of key markets, with a speech from our minister Naaja H. Nathanielsen and presentations from Visit Greenland, the Government of Greenland, Air Greenland, Icelandair, and Greenland Airports. Thank you to everyone involved this year! Next year, Vestnorden will be held in Greenland and we are so excited that everyone will be gathered here again. #KalaallitNunaat

🏆 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗴𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼… Raw Arctic! 🏆 The Greenland Tourism Award is presented annually by Visit Greenland and Air Greenland to recognize local tourism companies that lead the way and set new standards for responsible, authentic tourism. This year, both locals, visitors and colleagues from across the tourism industry were invited to nominate Greenlandic tourism operators for the award. Congratulations to the young Greenlandic entrepreneurs behind Raw Arctic, who in just 15 months have built a company that points the way toward the future of tourism in Greenland. 🎣 Raw Arctic offers guests authentic, small-group experiences that create a deep connection to nature and culture – from fly fishing, sailing among icebergs and whale watching to wilderness camp stays, and tailor-made adventures. 🌱 Sustainability is at the heart of everything they do: catch-and-release fishing, solar energy, and raising awareness of climate change are combined with hiring and training local guides, as well as close partnerships with local hotels and operators in Nuuk. 📸 With strong digital storytelling, Raw Arctic shares Greenland with the world – and inspires both travelers and the wider industry to think innovatively and responsibly. A big thank you to Raw Arctic for their impressive contribution – and to all this year’s nominees for raising the standard of tourism in Greenland with passion, quality, and responsibility. This week, Visit Greenland headed to South Greenland. In Qaqortoq, we met with the Mayor of Kommune Kujalleq, representatives from Innovation South Greenland, and local businesses. Our conversations focused on what it means to be the country’s largest cruise destination - with the highest number of ship calls. 🛳️ That reality demands precise coordination, strong hospitality, and flexible capacity. The industry’s professionalism is evident, and collaboration across the region keeps operations smooth and the guest experience strong. The region is also developing a new, visionary tourism strategy, closely aligned with national goals and shaped with careful attention to local residents’ perspectives to ensure balanced development. ⚖️ 📈 During the visit, we toured the airport construction site, which is expected to open in April 2026. ✈️🛠️ It’s an impressive project that will reshape travel patterns and strengthen the region’s accessibility. The potential is significant - and can only be realised through close collaboration locally, regionally, and nationally. 🤝 Thank you for the warm hospitality and ambitious dialogue. #KalaallitNunaat

Trip update: We didn’t make it to Aasiaat this time. 🌬️ In an adventure destination, weather and operations sometimes reshape plans — and that’s okay. After a few extra days in Ilulissat, our CEO and Head of Destination Development & Cruise continued to Qeqqata Kommunia. In Kangerlussuaq, we met with the Mayor, the Municipal Director, the local DMO, and tourism partners. We left inspired by the region’s strong adventure profile — and its distinctly visionary, entrepreneurial approach to destination development. 🚀 What stood out was the mindset: curiosity, pace, and a “let’s make it happen” attitude — from testing new products and partnerships to building capacity across seasons. ☀️❄️ This is a region that learns, adapts, and invests with a long-term view, while keeping community value and visitor quality at the centre. Thank you to Qeqqata Kommunia, the local DMO, and industry partners for the warm hospitality and ambitious dialogue. 🙏
