Body positivity is about more than loving our physical selves, it’s also about seeking respect and joy for anybody who has felt “othered” by societal beauty standards. In recent years, body neutrality—which seeks awareness of our bodies’ abilities and limitations without focusing on appearance—has also gained momentum as a liberating concept for those who have felt suppressed by the emphasis put on their looks.
