During the closing ceremony of this year’s Pokémon World Championships, The Pokémon Company dropped a surprise teaser trailer for Pokémon: Wild Card — a new feature-length movie from studio CloverWorks that appears to be about the trading card game. The film’s set to release some time in 2027.
As Netflix turns into a video podcast warehouse, HBO is planting its own flag with an original titan of radio. The Howard Stern Show arrives with weekly episodes on HBO Max September 17th. The series will be adapted from Stern’s SiriusXM program.
The show will kick off on YouTube and Twitch at 9AM ET / 6AM PT, followed by a State of Play Japan livestream right after.

Player-mounted cameras aren’t entirely new to the world of football. According to ESPN, they’ve been widely used by colleges, and the Eagles were experimenting as early as 2016. But this year they’ve been adopted much more broadly in the NFL, with at least six teams having embraced the tech.
In some cases, it’s for the vision the camera provides, which helps coaches and players see each play from the quarterback’s vantage point. In others, the value is in giving coaches a peek into the communication taking place on the field, helping them get deeper insight into how QBs and other players -- such as the center making protection calls -- are communicating at the line and in the huddle. The cameras have even been experimented with on defense.

EA’s Iron Man game, first announced back in 2022, just had some internal video leaked on ResetEra. The video shows Tony Stark effortlessly zipping through New York City in a way that instantly recalls the well-received Spider-Man series. A few publications and other outlets got to watch a Rockstar North co-lead play the game, and their coverage has a bunch of information about gameplay that wasn’t included in Netflix’s cinematic extended look.
The preview is scheduled to debut on Netflix at 3PM ET, though creators can stream it as long as they talk over it. Starting at 9PM ET, you’ll be able to watch the preview on YouTube and the GTA VI website.
My colleague Andrew Webster wrote that this weekend, and I’ve been thinking about it today in the leadup to the today’s 26-minute “extended look” at the game. Skipping discs? Warping the video game release calendar? Massive leaks? A Netflix special — that creators can livestream? All part of the GTA VI saga.
The $899.99 console went on sale at 10AM ET and was out of stock right after, and eBay’s sold listings show that people are paying more than $2,000 to buy confirmed preorders, Polygon reports. The console looks cool, but I wouldn’t say it’s $2,000 cool.

As part of $3.99 DLC for Scott Pilgrim EX, you can now play as Stephen Stills, Kim Pine and Knives Chau. The game, which launched in March, is also getting a free update that adds an arcade mode.

The Miamian obtained a Rockstar pitch deck through a public records request that proposes Vice City-themed takeovers of places like Miami’s airport, Metrorail stations, and some public areas.

The 85 year old Canadian voice actor was best known for portraying the Autobot across Transformers media, including the original 1980s animated series and live-action films. He’s also recognized for voicing animated characters like Eeyore in the Winnie the Pooh franchise.
A statement from his family says he “passed away peacfully,” and asks that his fans “honor his remarkable legacy by serving your communities and leading others with compassion, integrity and loyalty and always remember ‘be strong enough to be gentle’.”

Sony’s new trailer for The Social Reckoning features a few brief snippets of Strong’s performance. The voice is pretty uncanny. The film debuts in theaters on October 9th.
The studio is reworking Splitgate: Arena Reloaded and Empulse to support peer-to-peer multiplayer but will no longer be providing dedicated servers, according to a message from cofounders Ian Proulx and Nicholas Bagamian. (Proulx wore a hat that read “Make FPS Great Again” at 2025’s Summer Game Fest, which he apologized for.)
The cofounders also note that “our focus is changing” and that “What we build next may look very different from what people expect from 1047 Games.”
“It just felt like the fair thing to do,” Panic says in an email shared on Reddit. The exact refund amount seems to vary; the email screenshot shows a refund of $12.36, while a couple other Reddit users mentioned refunds of about $23.
I dig just about everything in the new 18-minute video demo that you can watch on YouTube. (I can’t embed it because it’s age-gated.) The whole vibe is way more interesting to me than yet another grimdark fantasy.

The latest trailer for Netflix’s Willy Wonka-inspired reality competition show features a lot more voiceover from an AI-generated clone of Gene Wilder. The AI of it all was already ridiculous, but it’s even weirder to hear how much the AI voice sounds like Wilder doing an impression of RuPaul explaining Drag Race challenges.
November 19th will also be the launch date for Volvy’s Adventure: Reslimed, a new retro-styled platformer that stars Devolver’s weird mascot. And both GTA VI and Volvy’s Adventure will be going up against November 19th’s launch of The Binding of Isaac: Repentance + Online on consoles that same day. Big day.
