Apple is teasing its upcoming Neuromancer adaptation, which means we might be getting a trailer for the cyberpunk series — or maybe even a premiere date — in the near future.

Been thinking about it today for some reason.
I’ve been playing a lot of Mario Kart World recently, so for me, the new routes in the 1.7.0 update are arriving at the perfect time.
Next up: hopefully more alternate outfits for Donkey Kong, who somehow only has one? And maybe an improved Grand Prix mode?

Good news for those of you who didn’t catch Project Hail Mary in theaters — it’ll finally be available to stream on Prime Video on July 3rd. Unless you have something better to be doing this weekend…
Project Hail Mary is popcorn sci-fi at its best

In an interview with French media outlet PSI, former SIE Worldwide Studios chairman Shawn Layden said bringing Sony exclusives to PC was always about expanding title visability beyond PlayStation consoles, and wasn’t a money-making strategy:
I think if someone’s waiting 18 months for something to come on PC, we didn’t lose a sale to them. They weren’t going to buy the hardware anyway. If it’s a way to cover costs or the burden of making a port, there is some money attached to that, or the distraction or whatever. I don’t know what they’re thinking.”
Xbox is expected to make some tough cuts soon, and it already dropped a new franchise from IO Interactive, but OD will continue to be part of Xbox’s publishing lineup, according to IGN.
After more than a year and a half in court, satirical news site The Onion is rebooting Alex Jones’ InfoWars — even as the conspiracy channel hangs in legal limbo. Comedian and writer Tim Heidecker has been tapped as creative director, and he came on the show to share his vision for the platform. Also mentioned: peptides, The Beatles, and the state of Tim’s vocal chords. Enjoy!

Mechanism’s Steam Controller Dock might fit the bill. It has a dedicated place to lock in the controller’s puck, which means you can rest and charge the controller upright while you aren’t using it.
You can preorder the Dock now for $39. It’s set to ship on July 6th.

Neon was one of the only studios that seemed interested in picking up Luca Guadagnino’s biographical drama about Sam Altman after Amazon suddenly decided not to distribute the movie. And now, Neon is reportedly “in advanced talks” for a deal that could get the project into theaters.

That’s what the company told Bloomberg for its story about exiting a partnership with IO Interactive. “We expect to invest about the same in content as we did last year,” Xbox says. “What’s changing is where we’re investing and the kinds of projects we’re backing.”
Earlier today, my colleague Tom Warren reported that Xbox is weighing canceling its Blade game and could close at least five studios.
Last week I wrote about Unhinged, a fascinating horror experience from Netflix that’s part of the streamer’s push into TV-based games. Well, now you can experience it for yourself, as it launches today.
It will run at 30fps both docked and in handheld, Nintendo Everything reports. The physical version will be on cart, according a listing from retailer VGP, but the company says that while the game isn’t a game-key card, “we have not been told to what extent the game is on the cart.”
YouTube-to-Hollywood hit Backrooms is coming back to theaters on July 3rd, with an expanded version called “Everything Must Go” that features 16 additional minutes of footage.
If you missed the second Super Mario movie in theaters, it’s hitting Peacock on July 30th, which is a good amount of time to jump into the games if you haven’t.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is beautiful but a little too busy
Nintendo provided a deeper look into its upcoming single-player take on Splatoon, getting into the nitty gritty of weapon customization, enemies, and — most important of all — fashion. Personally I can’t wait to wield a beyblade that sprays ink. You can watch the entire presentation below (skip ahead to the 30 minute mark).
Fresh off the reveal of Persona 6 comes a report that Netflix is working on a live-action adaptation of the series. There aren’t many details yet, and the streamer has yet to confirm, but Christopher Monfette — who has worked on series like Picard and the upcoming VisionQuest — is attached as writer.
As promised, Netflix has released the first trailer for the sequel to its Cyberpunk 2077 anime Edgerunners. The new season will tell a standalone story, and the first look is full of blood, guitars, and some delightfully retro shots. No specific premiere date yet, but it’ll start streaming in the fall.
Nintendo’s next big Switch 2 exclusive drops at the end of July, and tomorrow the company will be showing off a little more of Splatoon Raiders with a 15-minute-long Direct. It starts streaming at 10AM ET.
The first trailer for Robert Eggers’ Werwulf makes the movie seem a lot like a cross between The Witch and Nosferatu, which means it should make for a deliciously disturbing watch when it hits theaters on December 25th.
For this weekend’s Stepback, Emma Roth highlights that ad-free streaming is now priced like a luxury. You were all very quick to jump to the comments section and point out that there is a cheaper option.
4NDREW:
Viewers on a budget absolutely have an alternative: sail the luxurious, ad-free high seas. For many, piracy becomes increasingly enticing as the paid options continue the enshittification.

The racing league has been testing it for at least two years now, and it’s ready to make its big debut. It can accelerate to 300 km/h (186 mph) in 4 seconds with a top speed of over 350 km/h (217 mph). The big challenge is keeping that up for an entire lap without exploding.
Correction June 28th: This post originally stated the race in question was the Australian GP.

Jeff Bridges is best known as an actor. But he’s also a reasonably accomplished musician who’s put out records on Blue Note and worked with T Bone Burnett. Which makes it all the more depressing when he fired up Suno on This Past Weekend with Theo Von.
Flying Lotus composed two ringtones for iOS 13. He was recently asked by Almanac of Rap host Donwill who he would put on the track if Daybreak were a song and not a ringtone. He said Freddie Gibbs and now I can’t stop thinking about the possibilities.
Dbrand opened up preorders on Monday, shortly ahead of the actual announcement of the Steam Machine’s price and release date. But the cube appears to have vanished from the company’s website, and the YouTube teaser has been made private, as noted on Reddit.
Dbrand and Valve didn’t immediately reply to requests for comment.
