The Post-Instant digital camera is another attempt at simulating the film shooting experience.

Accessory-maker Rolling Square has launched a new sister-brand called Await whose first product is a screen-free 8-megapixel digital camera that emulates the functionality and limitations of film cameras. You shoot on a simulated roll with 24 exposures but you don’t get to see your pics until they’re “processed” on a mobile app that gives you the option to download the results or order physical 4x6 prints.

Await’s Post-Instant camera is launching through a Kickstarter with early bird pricing starting at €89 (around $101).
There’s no LCD preview screen on the back of the camera. Just an optical viewfinder and a small OLED letting you know how many shots you have left on your current digital film roll.
You only get to see the photos you’ve taken once they’ve been wirelessly transferred to a mobile app where you have the option to download them or order 4x6 prints at $9.99 for 24 photos.
The Post-Instant camera can be customized with colorful magnetic face plates and features a translucent case revealing the electronics inside.
