Vaishnavi Devi shared this💡 Designing for India’s Gig Workforce Building for delivery partners means balancing simplicity, adoption, and motivation. In this podcast episode with Darshan Suthar, we spoke about what it takes to build for India’s gig workforce at scale. We explored: Making products intuitive for non–tech-savvy users 🔹 Solving adoption challenges in real-world conditions 🔹 How gamification and incentives shape partner motivation At the heart of it all is empathy—understanding partner challenges on the ground and translating them into product choices that drive trust and impact. 🎧 Watch the full episode here: https://lnkd.in/eFSFPsVB

Vaishnavi Devi shared thisJust wrapped up a power-packed AI Mastery Workshop for Product Managers , hosted by Women in Product India and SparkProd Consulting Private Limited We covered: - AI-powered agents - RAG architectures - Rapid prototyping techniques - Real-world AI use cases - ROI frameworks My takeaway: Trust is foundational for AI products to succeed - Built through transparent design, meaningful user control, and feedback mechanisms that make the systems more accountable, reliable, and human-centered AI is challenging PMs to think beyond features — to design systems. It’s about orchestrating data, models, user interactions, and feedback into a cohesive experience. A huge thank you to Malthi SS (Product Coach), Aniket Chhabra, and Swati Awasthi for making AI feel less intimidating and far more actionable. The depth of examples and the breadth of use cases shared were truly impressive. 🚀 Next cohort is open for early access: 👉 https://lnkd.in/gwwwxMJw #AIforPMs #ProductThinking #BuildWithAI #AIWorkshopInterested - AI Product Management Mastery WorkshopInterested - AI Product Management Mastery Workshop

Vaishnavi Devi shared thisVaishnavi Devi shared thisHow to Create Allies in Product Teams 👇 A powerful strategy I’ve learned from Vaishnai: Preparation + Clarity = Strong Alliances. 1️⃣ Do the Prep Work: She gathers data, consumer insights, market trends, and talks to PMs, marketing, and other teams. The goal? A fully informed perspective to build trust and support. 2️⃣ Always Answer the “WHY”: She’s ready to explain why each decision matters. When you can clearly communicate the reason behind your choices, others will back you. 3️⃣ Execute with Conviction: Confidence comes from knowing your stuff. When you’re prepared, you stand strong—and that earns allies. Takeaway: Build your knowledge, connect the dots, and execute with confidence to create real allies. here is the link to the full episode https://lnkd.in/g-mxnfZ4 #Leadership #ProductManagement #Teamwork #Strategy #Preparation

Vaishnavi Devi liked thisTwo days, 25th and 26th September at The Great Product Festival 2026 in Bengaluru, India and what an experience! What I loved most was the sheer variety of conversations — AI, agentic commerce, consumer products, product strategy, experimentation, growth, AI agents and the future of product. And perhaps my biggest takeaway: *Amidst all the AI excitement, the fundamentals still matter.* Great products still need a - 1. Clear customer problem 2. Strong discovery 3. Good strategy 4. Data-driven decisions 5. Experimentation 6. Above all, empathy for the customer. One personal highlight was listening to Lalitha Ramani K ma’am from Google Maps. I was genuinely glued to her talk — there’s something about the way she thinks, communicates and carries herself that is simply magical. Walked out as a big fan! ❤️ A huge shoutout to Swati Awasthi and AMRIT RAJ , the wonder woman and super man behind Women in Product India and this amazing festival. It was such a pleasure working with you both! ❤️ And thank you to the wonderful teams at Freshworks and Toast for being incredible hosts with great infrastructure, an amazing IT team and, of course, some really yummy food! 😊 Minakshi Khuntia Aishwarya Thilak And finally, the best part — my roomies Aarati Mankar Swathi Chirravuri and Sreevally (Sree) Pasumarthy - those late-night conversations, laughs, catching up, shopping and reliving old times! It was also lovely meeting so many women in product and members of the Women in Product India core team. The energy, camaraderie and passion within this community are out of the world! Vaishnavi Devi liked thisVaishnavi Devi liked thisVery excited to have kicked off a very special India–Japan collaboration bringing Japanese balloon origami artists and Indian Tholu Bommalata artisans together to create something spectacular. Five artists from Japan and five Indian artisans came together at our Bangalore space to explore the intersection of two very different art forms: Japanese balloon origami and Tholu Bommalata, India’s traditional leather shadow puppetry. Along with Japanese artist Ken Okamuro, the Folkluru team and master artisan Sindhe Siva, we explored how Ken-san’s balloon origami practice could take form through the leather, colours and painting language of Tholu Bommalata. What makes this even more special is how quickly it all came together. The idea sparked just two months ago that jacob mathew came up with. And over just three intense days at Zwende, the team brought two life-sized horses to life : a 6-foot-tall leather horse alongside Ken-san’s paper origami horse. Paper, leather, sketches, prototypes, experimentation - our office became one large workshop. The two horses were then exhibited as part of Folkluru at Bangalore Design Week. A big first for India × Japan. And an even bigger moment for us at Zwende. When I started Zwende, I always imagined Indian craft travelling beyond India - through ideas, collaborations and conversations with artists around the world. Two months ago, this was just an idea. And suddenly, I was standing in our office watching artists who had travelled from Japan working alongside Indian artisans to bring it to life. That was incredibly special. In fact, Zwende gets its name from the Spanish word duende : that hard-to-describe feeling of soul, emotion and magic that you sometimes experience through art. Watching all of this come together, I couldn’t help but think: this is exactly the feeling we named Zwende after. My heart was full. And yes, I shed a tear. Our first international artist collaboration, the first of many to come! Sujay S Rujutaa Joshi jacob mathew Srishti School of Art, Design & Technology Association of Designers of India

The hardest part of last-mile delivery isn't the road - it’s navigating the final 100 meters. Our delivery partners spend incredible amount of time locating exact drop points. So we built a simpler fix: Location Photos on Swiggy. Instead of back-and-forth calls or long text directions, you can now add Location Photos directly to your saved address on Swiggy. Why it helps: ⚡ Faster Deliveries: Zero back-and-forth calls. 💰 More Partner Earnings: Less time searching = more orders fulfilled. Help us help them deliver faster. Vaishnavi Devi liked thisVaishnavi Devi liked thisI think Swiggy just solved a very small problem that could mean more orders!!! Yesterday I wanted a Starbucks coffee + a Smoor pastry. Earlier, if I added the coffee and then added something from SMOOR, one would get removed from the cart. So I had 2 choices: No budget: Pick one. Avg budget: Place 2 separate orders. 😭 Now I can keep both in the same checkout. Separate restaurants. Separate delivery. Separate ETAs. And separate coupons. That last part caught my attention from a product lens. I could use a coupon for SMOOR and another one for Starbucks, while still having one checkout experience. So Swiggy has essentially removed a small decision point from the customer journey: “Do I really want both, or should I just pick one?” Less friction → fewer compromises → potentially more items in the basket. A small UX change, but an interesting conversion + basket-size play. And personally? Guess who’s going to have bigger Swiggy orders now? 😂 #ProductManagement #ProductOps #ProductStrategy #ProductThinking #UX #CustomerExperience #ConsumerTech #Swiggy #FoodTech #GrowthProduct #ProductDesign #Productanalyst

The strategy playbook that Indian startups are playing is getting easier to predict day by day! Swiggy 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 #SNACC, their quick commerce cloud kitchen. This is something I predicted almost exactly one year back, suggesting that this will be shut down in favour of #Bolt - the collaborative business with the restaurant partners where they offer quick deliveries. Both Swiggy and Zomato are working the playbooks of many companies in the past, and this only goes on to show that the decades old case studies that you study in your B-Schools about big companies of the past, are the same building blocks that the modern equivalents are working with. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗯𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗶𝘀 As I hit the 1 month mark of deploying my first production code in 16 years a couple of days back, I have been on an overdrive of reflection on how the world is transforming. Here are the musings in completely haphazard order - The highest end of labour market is losing its edge as we speak. Think - software developer, product managers, traders, management. - World is shifting from a labour management to capital management architecture - Old systems built on labour management alone(think compliant, execution heavy, no questions asked) are going to struggle. This is primarily true in the valuable knowledge economies. Trade skills might survive for a bit longer. - Systems(and leaders) that have thrived under compliance architecture will find it hard to adapt unless they get really good with managing non-compliant critical thinking architecture - Non compliant, critical thinking and non linear people might find this a playgound to thrive. Provided they also have the agency to act - Done right and adopted fast it is going to unlock value and capabilities that were unthinkable for most of human existence. As leaders we need to make this hard pivot soon to managing capital more than labour, and managing non compliant labour more than compliant labour. As an aside it was fun to write without AI after a while :). Cheers for the weekend! #TheAbundanceThesis #FutureOfWork #AITransformation #CapitalManagement #CriticalThinking #NonLinearGrowth #AutomationEra #BuilderMode #HumanInsight #WeekendMusings

Speed got quick commerce into the market. Catalog depth and unit economics will decide who survives. When nineteen players enter the same market competing purely on delivery minutes, speed stops being a differentiator and simply becomes table stakes. In January 2026, when Blinkit quietly moved away from its prominent "10-minute delivery" tagline to highlight "30,000+ products delivered at your doorstep," it signaled a strategic turning point for the entire category. Zepto and Swiggy Instamart made similar adjustments shortly after. The race was never truly about the stopwatch. The timer was an aggressive customer acquisition hook designed to reshape daily consumer habits. Once habit formation is complete, the underlying business reality takes over: dark store density, inventory turnover, average order value (AOV), and category expansion. Moving groceries in ten minutes builds transaction frequency; moving electronics, beauty, pharmacy, and apparel creates margin. Hyper-growth categories always follow a predictable evolution: A capital-heavy land grab to capture mindshare and prove basic convenience. Margin compression when competing solely on delivery promises and ad spend. Infrastructure leverage, where the delivery network evolves into a full-scale distribution rail. Speed earns initial attention, but operational discipline and customer retention build enterprise value. A few players will dominate broad catalog delivery through massive dark store scale, niche operators will survive by staying disciplined in high-margin categories, and those running on subsidized speed alone will eventually be forced out. In growth marketing and brand positioning, the dynamic is identical: acquisition tactics get prospects through the door, but unit economics and product depth determine longevity. Worth thinking about as consumer brands evaluate which distribution rails actually drive sustainable profitability. #QuickCommerce #BrandStrategy #ConsumerBehavior #D2CIndia #SupplyChain #BusinessGrowth #MarketingStrategy #FounderMindset Visual Design Architecture (Canva / Carousel Blueprint) Visual Theme: Clean, minimal dark slate background (#111625), structured grid, high-contrast white typography with neon amber accents. There are so many posts and videos stating and showing how and why NIRMA "lost" the washing powder battle. Nirma's numbers tell a different story. FY 2023/24 they did above 10,000 cr in revenue and 1400cr in EBITDA. The founder Karsanbhai Patel is currently estimated to have a new worth of about 45000cr. Not the numbers of someone who lost. So what did happen. The FMCG detergent category became a capital-intensive advertising arms race- TV stars, huge budgets, razor-thin margins. Instead of burning cash to “stay visible,” Nirma shifted into industrials and chemicals- soda ash, LAB, cement assets, life sciences- where scale and engineering, not celebrity ads, determine profits. Most people judge businesses by billboard presence. But visibility ≠ value. Nirma didn’t disappear. It simply stopped competing in the noisiest arena and won quietly in some other profitable ones. You don't lose a battle you decide not to be a part of. I am not sure Nirma "Lost" anything.
