Grate Streaming Device for 4K, HDR10+/DolbyVision and Immersive Dolby Atmos
What I like with the new version of Fire TV 4K Max is it got bigger storage. And improved Remote controller. I would recommend to have this as an external streaming device regardless of your TV is a Smart TV with Apps. As TV’s internal app can slow down and unresponsive, but with a decent streaming device like this you can let your TV do the job it supposes to do which is give you better picture as per the capabilities of the TV display. And also, if you have an old TV like mine, but with grate display capabilities you are better off with having a Fire TV 4K max as you can experienced the lates display and sounds without upgrading your TV. It supports Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos Sounds. Lots of Apps and WiFi6 enable if your Wi-Fi Router supports. Remote has upgraded, and have direct buttons to "APPS", "screen mirroring", "Settings" and Home Screen". Ambient Display is grate and have option to use stock Amazon pictures or your own memories display on your big screen. (you need to upload your photos/Videos to Amazon Photo App to use this feature) The feature of able to playing Xbox Games are added advantage. However, I have downloaded the app and tried to play one of the games. I am bit suspicious how an 8GB memory and ‘not so fast’ internal processor can handle modern high framerate games. As I was unable to play /have good gaming experience on the device. However, I am certain that this will support and you can play some not so ‘graphic heavy’ Xbox games without an issue. There are minor connection/HDMI hand shake issues. It could be due to my 8 years old Sony Z9D firmware. I have connected this directly to my Marantz AVR, so I can free one of the available Hi-Speed HDMI ports on Sony Z9D. There is time to time lagging/stop responding. Also, noticeable that when you use the Fire TV remote to turn on/off connected devices, that can cause some issues, however, they are minor issues. All the major Apps (Netflix, Prime, Disney+ and Paramount+ support and work without any issues on 4K and higher/better sounds (Up to Dolby Atmos) and HDR (Dolby Vision when available) as long as you TV and sounds system support and have right subscription plan.

The picture quality is excellent thanks to Dolby Vision and HDR10+, and paired with Dolby Atmos, the sound experience feels immersive. The extra 16GB storage is also a huge improvement, letting me install more apps and games without running out of space.

Setup was simple, and the interface is clean and responsive. Alexa voice control works flawlessly for searching, opening apps, and even controlling smart home devices.

Overall, this is the best Fire Stick yet — powerful, reliable, and future-proof with Wi-Fi 6E. If you want the smoothest 4K streaming experience, this is the one to get.

I can’t say enough good things about the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max—it’s hands-down one of the best streaming devices I’ve ever used! This little powerhouse transformed my old TV into a smart entertainment hub, and the performance is nothing short of impressive. The 2.0 GHz quad-core processor makes everything so smooth and fast; apps like Netflix and YouTube launch in a snap and run flawlessly, with no buffering or lag, even when streaming in 4K Ultra HD. The picture quality is vibrant, thanks to Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support, and the Dolby Atmos audio through my soundbar feels immersive. The 16GB of storage is a huge plus, letting me download a ton of apps and games without worrying about running out of space. The Wi-Fi 6E ensures rock-solid connectivity, even with multiple devices on my network.

The Alexa Voice Remote Enhanced is super intuitive, making it easy to search for shows or control my smart home devices with voice commands. The Fire TV Ambient Experience is a cool bonus, turning my TV into an art display when not in use. Honestly, this device exceeded my expectations in every way—setup was a breeze, and the interface is clean and responsive.

The only hiccup was that the remote stopped working after about six months, which was frustrating. But Amazon’s customer service absolutely saved the day! They sent me a brand-new Fire TV Stick 4K Max as a replacement. This level of support is why I’m still giving it a full five stars. The device itself is fantastic, and Amazon’s commitment to standing behind their product makes it an easy recommendation. If you’re looking for a top-notch streaming solution that’s fast, versatile, and backed by great service, this is the one to get. Highly recommend!

The Fire TV Stick 4K Max is easily the best streaming stick Amazon has released so far. From the moment I set it up, the performance was noticeably faster — apps launch almost instantly, the interface is smooth, and streaming quality is excellent across the board.

One of the standout features is the Wi-Fi 6E support. I’ve noticed more stable connections and faster buffering compared to older models, even in areas of the house where signal used to be hit & miss. If you have a compatible router, this is definitely worth upgrading for that reason alone.

The 16GB storage is another major plus. It gives you more room to install apps without constantly having to manage space — something that was always an issue on previous versions.

Video quality is brilliant. Dolby Vision & HDR10+ support mean everything looks sharp, rich, and vibrant on my 4K TV. Pair that with a solid processor and you’ve got a device that keeps up with everything you throw at it — streaming, live TV, gaming apps, or smart home control.

Setup is quick, the remote is intuitive, and Alexa voice control is responsive and genuinely useful.

If you’re upgrading from an older Fire Stick or just want a smooth, reliable 4K streaming experience, this one ticks every box. Highly recommended.

My bug bear with the Amazon Fire tv standard was that you could not run apps like KAYO .The new Fire Tv 4K Max has fixed that but the most annoying thing is it still will not let Google Play onto it's platform.
Damn annoying because I have racing apps that I can load into my Smart Tv but can't load into this streaming stick.
    Now, I have 4 tv's , 3 have the Firestick 4K max and the other the Nvidia. A Sony, 2 TCL's and a Hisense
and every one runs flawlessly , 2 of the sets have soundbars and the Sony has a full Blown 8 speaker 5.2 setup going through a Denon amp , and apart from the one sound syncing problem the setup on all the others was straight forward and easy, it just left me scratching my head as to why some people have so much trouble with this stick , I also have terrestial TV hooked up to two of the sets and it's easy to switch back to that menu using the input control which says TV on the original remote for each set .
I also have all the Tv station streaming services on this stick, and the reason I use both the terrestial and the digital streaming is because the programs are different,, particluarly with live sport, what you get on terrestial is not always available on their streaming channels.
You might wonder why I use it when I have smart Tv's but the truth is, it's fast, darn fast and beats the hell out of your remote .Plus it supports Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, HDR10+ and 16GB of storage and it also can run on the WIFI 6E band on my wireless router which many Tv's can't., and lucky me I paid half price for it on promotion.
Now, this one replaces my NVIDIA shield which cost me $248.00, which now moves onto my spare TCL TV, the reason being that the NVIDIA is slow and flaky by comparison and at $54.00 for the Fire Tv there is no way I will ever invest in NVIDIA again , makes no sense, as this is quicker, with its only flaw being that Google Play thingy , which, is available on the NVIDIA device.
One good thing about it is , it has a visual audio syncing adjustment which I have had to use because I run an External sound system and more than often the sound is out of sync . The other thing I found the sync works fine with a HDMI connection but not with a split connection of picture and sound , that is , using a HDMI and a Toslink optical cable. The sound gets out of sync on that setup and stays out of sync , so try using the HDMI ARC to carry your sound and hook the Fire Tv to a spare HDMI port on your tv and it should run with out a problem.
Highly recommended at the price ,and as I said , I am at a lost to how people can muck this up, it's child's play, buy it when Amazon have a sale .
