📢 Government Shutdown Update: Impact on E-Verify As of October 1, 2025, the U.S. federal government has shut down. One of the affected services is E-Verify, which is now temporarily unavailable. Since Fountain’s I-9 Center integrates with E-Verify, here’s what you need to know: ✅ Form I-9s are still required. Employers must complete I-9s within three business days of a new hire’s start date. This rule has not changed. ⛔ E-Verify is offline. You cannot create new cases, update existing ones, or act on Tentative Nonconfirmations (TNCs) until the system is restored. 📝 If a case ends up late: Once E-Verify is back online, select “Other” as the reason and type “Federal Government Shutdown.” This ensures delays are properly documented for audits. ⏸ TNC deadlines are paused. Any cases already in TNC status will have extended deadlines until the system is available again. 🔒 Other Fountain products are not impacted.
