Pirates' Konnor Griffin: Homers in finale
Griffin went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Tigers.
Griffin opened the scoring with a leadoff blast before adding an RBI single in the fourth inning. The 20-year-old posted middling numbers in September in his return from injury, hitting .264 with eight extra-base hits, eight RBI, eight runs scored and three stolen bases over 21 games. While his first stint in the majors didn't exactly live up to the hype, Griffin slashed a respectable .272/.324/.404 with six homers, 33 RBI, 43 runs scored and 23 steals across 339 plate appearances and still remains one of the game's top dynasty assets.

Pirates' Jared Jones: Throws four scoreless in finale
Jones did not factor into the decision in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Tigers, allowing one hit and no walks while striking out five over four scoreless innings.
Jones was dominant, throwing 36 of 55 pitches for strikes with 10 whiffs while retiring the first six batters he faced. It was an exclamation point on an excellent September in which he went 3-0 with a 0.93 ERA and 40:4 K:BB over five outings. The 25-year-old enjoyed a strong bounceback campaign after undergoing elbow surgery in 2025, posting a 3.72 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 123:31 K:BB across 101.2 innings after making his season debut May 29.

Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Getting breather Sunday
Lowe is not in the lineup for Sunday's game versus the Tigers.
After slugging his 35th home run of the season in Saturday's loss to the Tigers, Lowe will get some extra rest during Sunday's regular-season finale. Pirates' Oneil Cruz: Sitting out despite clean MRI

Lowe has put together an impressive first season with the Pirates, slashing .260/.331/.493 in 150 games with 35 homers and 96 RBI, the second-highest totals of his career after his 39-homer, 99-RBI eruption for the Rays in 2021.

Pirates' Mason Montgomery: Blows third save Saturday
Montgomery (6-4) blew the save and took the loss Saturday as the Pirates fell 4-3 to the Tigers, giving up three runs on three hits in two-thirds of an inning. He struck out one.
The southpaw was the seventh pitcher of the afternoon for Pittsburgh in a bullpen day, but Montgomery couldn't protect a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the ninth inning, instead watching Eduardo Valencia walk it off with a two-run homer. It was Montgomery's third blown save of the season and his first since becoming the Bucs' primary closer after the All-Star break, ending a stretch of 17 straight conversions. Montgomery boasts a 2.93 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 103:26 K:BB in 67.2 innings during a breakout campaign.

Pirates' Oneil Cruz: Exits early Saturday
Cruz was removed from Saturday's game against the Tigers due to an apparent injury, Dominic Campbell of SI.com reports.
Cruz's knee seemed to be bothering him after his foot got stuck in the grass while he made a sliding catch in the first inning, and he was eventually taken out of the game in the third. The Pirates should provide more information on his status in the near future, but with just one game left on the schedule after Saturday, Pittsburgh may opt to keep him on the sidelines no matter what.
