  • Vikings' Blake Cashman: Nursing elbow injury

Cashman (elbow) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.

Cashman may have injured his elbow during the Vikings' Week 3 win over the Buccaneers, when he logged eight tackles (three solo), including 1.0 sacks, and a pass defense. He was at least able to log a limited session Wednesday, and he'll have two more chances to practice in full and avoid an injury designation ahead of Sunday's game against the Dolphins.

  • Vikings' Justin Jefferson: Not practicing, day-to-day

Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell said that Jefferson (ankle) won't practice Wednesday and is viewed as day-to-day.

Jefferson sprained his left ankle in the second quarter of the Vikings' Week 3 win over the Buccaneers, with the injury sidelining him for the entire second half. Though follow-up imaging on his ankle came back clean, Jefferson's status for Sunday's game against the Dolphins remains uncertain. He may need to get back on the practice field in some capacity by Friday in order for the Vikings and fantasy managers to feel good about his chances of suiting up this weekend.

  • Vikings' Josh Metellus: Finishes with nine stops in Week 3

Metellus recorded nine tackles (four solo), including 0.5 sacks, and a defensed pass Sunday against Tampa Bay in a 23-16 victory.

Metellus logged the second-most tackles on Minnesota behind Eric Wilson (11). One of his stops was an assisted sack of Baker Mayfield on the first play of the fourth quarter. Metellus has played every defensive snap for the Vikings so far this season and has racked up 20 tackles and two pass defenses through three contests.

  • Vikings' Isaiah Rodgers: Seals Week 3 win with pickoff

Rodgers logged six tackles (two solo) and an interception in Sunday's 23-16 victory over Tampa Bay.

Minnesota led by seven points late in the fourth quarter when Rodgers picked off rookie Jalon Daniels on a last-second heave that drifted just short of the end zone. It was Rodgers' first interception of the season and the fifth of his six-year career. The veteran cornerback emerged as a key starter for Minnesota last season and has played nearly every defensive snap for the team so far in 2026.

  • Vikings' Blake Cashman: Registers another sack in Week 3 victory

Cashman tallied eight tackles (three solo), including 1.0 sacks, and defensed a pass Sunday in a 23-16 win against the Buccaneers.

Cashman tied for third on Minnesota in stops and tied for the team lead with a pair of QB hits. He also brought down Bucs QB Baker Mayfield for a 10-yard loss early in the fourth quarter. Cashman is thriving in the Vikings' blitz-happy system with 2.5 sacks through three games. His career best is 4.5 sacks set over 14 regular-season contests in 2024.

  • Vikings' Eric Wilson: Overwhelms Bucs in Week 3

Wilson finished Sunday's 23-16 victory over Tampa Bay with 10 tackles, including 1.5 sacks, and one defensed pass.

Wilson not only led Minnesota with 10 stops, he was also responsible for 1.5 of the team's six total sacks. The veteran linebacker recorded a career-high 6.5 sacks across 17 regular-season games with the Vikings last year, as he's benefitted statistically from being in defensive coordinator Brian Flores' blitz-happy system. Wilson also surpassed 100 tackles for the second time in his career last year and is on pace to do so again in 2026 with 20 stops through three contests.

  • Vikings' Josh Oliver: Placed on injured reserve

The Vikings placed Oliver (biceps) on injured reserve Tuesday, Craig Peters of the team's official site reports.

Oliver's move to IR was expected after the tight end was diagnosed with a torn bicep Monday. The tight end will likely miss most, if not all, of the 2026 season as he recovers from surgery. T.J. Hockenson and Gavin Bartholomew are now the only tight ends on the Vikings' roster, meaning practice squad elevations ahead of Week 5 will likely include at least one more option for the team. The Vikings signed linebacker Kyle Van Noy to the 53-man roster in a corresponding move.

  • Vikings' Kyle Van Noy: Promoted to active roster

The Vikings signed Van Noy from the practice squad to the active roster Tuesday, Craig Peters of the team's official site reports.

The Vikings burned through Van Noy's practice squad elevations by playing the veteran linebacker in each of the team's three wins to start the 2026 regular season. Van Noy logged 59 defensive snaps over the three contests, totaling seven tackles (five solo), including 1.5 sacks. The 35-year-old will now stay a key rotational edge rusher for the team, this time on the 53-man roster.

  • Vikings' Max Brosmer: Receives promotion from practice squad

The Vikings will sign Brosmer off their practice squad Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of Netflix reports.

With the Vikings trading J.J. McCarthy to the Giants on Monday, Brosmer will be awarded a spot on the 53-man roster and slot in as the team's No. 3 quarterback behind Kyler Murray and Carson Wentz. As an undrafted rookie last season, Brosmer appeared in eight games for the Vikings and completed 47 of 71 pass attempts for 328 yards, zero touchdowns and four interceptions while carrying seven times for 11 yards and also losing a fumble.
