  • Texans' Reed Blankenship: Picks off Jones in Week 3 loss

Blankenship posted nine tackles (five solo) and two pass defenses (including one interception) during the Texans' 19-17 loss to the Colts in Week 3.

Blankenship recorded his first interception of the season early in the third quarter, when he jumped in front of a floating pass from Danny Jones that was intended for Josh Downs deep in Houston's territory. It was Blankenship's second interception over the past two years after recording a career-high four picks across 15 regular-season games with the Eagles in 2024. His presence in the secondary will be crucial in Week 4 when the Texans welcome in the Cowboys, whose offense ranks in the top-10 in the league in points per game (29.3).

  • Texans' Mario Edwards: Placed on injured reserve

The Texans placed Edwards on injured reserve Wednesday.

Edwards suffered a torn ACL in Sunday's 19-17 loss to the Colts and will miss the rest of the 2026 season. The defensive tackle has been moved to injured reserve and will no longer take up a spot on the Texans' 53-man roster.

  • Texans' Chris Braswell: Signs to active roster

The Texans signed Braswell from the practice squad to the active roster Wednesday.

Braswell played 17 regular-season games with the Buccaneers in 2025, logging 30 tackles (21 solo), including 1.0 sacks, over 281 defensive snaps and 204 special-teams snaps. The defensive end will now provide additional depth to a Texans line that may be without Will Anderson (ankle) and Jadeveon Clowney (knee) in Sunday's matchup against the Cowboys.

  • Texans' Will Anderson: Limited by ankle issue

Anderson (ankle) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

Anderson may have injured his ankle during the Texans' Week 3 loss to the Colts, when he logged seven tackles (five solo), including 2.5 sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. He's been a key piece to the Texans' defense since entering the league in 2023 as a first-round pick, and if he cannot play against the Cowboys on Sunday, then Jadeveon Clowney (knee) and Dominique Robinson would both be in line for more snaps at defensive end opposite Danielle Hunter. Anderson will have two more opportunities to log a full practice and avoid an injury designation for Week 4.

  • Texans' Azeez Al-Shaair: Considered week-to-week

Coach DeMeco Ryans said Wednesday that Al-Shaair is "week-to-week" with the groin injury he suffered during Sunday's game at Indianapolis, Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Al-Shaair was able to return to action in Week 3 after checking out of the game with the groin injury, but his outlook for Week 4 is now up in the air. He'll probably have to practice in full Thursday or Friday to avoid carrying an injury designation into the weekend.

  • Texans' Nico Collins: Officially limited Wednesday

Collins (hamstring) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

It was Collins' first practice since he was injured in practice ahead of Week 2, causing him to miss the last two contests. A limited start to the week is a good sign, but Collins will need to avoid setbacks before being counted on for Sunday's potential showdown with the Cowboys.

  • Texans' Nico Collins: Practicing Wednesday

Collins (hamstring) returned to practice Wednesday, Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports.

After Collins sat out Week 2 and Week 3 due to a strained hamstring, coach Demeco Ryans said Monday that the Texans were "hopeful" the wide receiver will be available this coming Sunday versus the Cowboys, per Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston. Getting back on the practice field Wednesday is a step in the right direction for Collins, but how he progresses the rest of the week will determine whether or not he's able to suit up Week 4.

  • Texans' Mario Edwards: Done for season with torn ACL

Edwards (knee) has been diagnosed with a torn ACL and will miss the remainder of the 2026 season, Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Edwards was injured in Sunday's game against the Colts, and the 32-year-old will soon be headed to injured reserve. In three games this season, Edwards recorded six tackles (one solo), including 1.0 sacks, as a rotational defensive lineman for Houston.

  • Texans' Kayshon Boutte: Two catches in Week 3 loss vs. Indy

Boutte hauled in both of his targets for 21 yards during the Texans' 19-17 loss to the Colts on Sunday.

For a second consecutive week, Boutte operated in an elevated role on offense due to the absence of Nico Collins (hamstring). Boutte's 37 offensive snaps actually led all Texans wide receivers, but he didn't see a target from C.J. Stroud until late in the fourth quarter, when the duo connected on back-to-back passes of 15 and six yards. Those two catches set the Texans up in the red zone and led to a Woody Marks one-yard rushing touchdown at the 1:50 mark. Per Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston on Monday, head coach DeMeco Ryans expressed optimism that Collins would be back for Week 4 against the Cowboys. Collins' practice participation in the coming days will shed light on what Boutte's workload may look like against Dallas this Sunday.

  • Texans' Dare Ogunbowale: Signs off Vegas' practice squad

The Texans signed Ogunbowale off the Raiders' practice squad Tuesday.

Ogunbowale settled for the Raiders' practice squad after being trimmed from the team's roster during August's cutdown day. The running back now returns to Houston, where he participated in 129 offensive snaps and 281 special-teams snaps over 17 regular-season games in 2025.

  • Texans' Woody Marks: Scores first TD of 2026

Marks turned five carries into 15 yards and a touchdown and hauled in his lone target for six yards during the Texans' 19-17 loss to the Colts on Sunday. He also returned two kickoffs for 52 yards.

Marks and David Montgomery both averaged only three yards per carry during Sunday's loss, though the former found the end zone for the first time this season on a one-yard rushing touchdown late in the fourth quarter. Marks' 20 snaps on offense was behind Montgomery's 34, though neither running back has found much success in the rushing attack in each of the Texans' last two games. Houston will look to avoid an 0-4 start to the season in Week 4 against Dallas.
