Colts' DeForest Buckner: Gets to Stroud twice in Week 3 win
Buckner registered seven tackles (two solo), including 1.5 sacks, during the Colts' 19-17 win over the Texans in Week 3.
Buckner was responsible for two of the Colts' three sacks on C.J. Stroud in Sunday's win. The veteran defensive lineman got to Stroud early in the first quarter for a four-yard sack before Buckner combined with Adetomiwa Adebawore for a two-yard takedown of the Texans QB late in the second quarter. Buckner has logged at least 0.5 sacks in each of the first three games of the regular season and is up to 3.0 sacks on the year, which leads the Colts and is tied for eighth-most in the NFL.

Colts' Mo Alie-Cox: Misses practice with illness
Alie-Cox (illness) did not participate at practice Wednesday.
The nature of Alie-Cox's ailment is unknown, so it's not clear whether his availability for Week 4 is in any jeopardy. If he can return to practice Thursday or Friday, he'll put himself in a good position to suit up Sunday at Washington.

Colts' Ashton Dulin: Not practicing Wednesday
Dulin (ankle) is not practicing Wednesday, James Boyd of The Athletic reports.
Dulin has missed the past two games, and his practice week ahead of Week 4 is off on the wrong foot. With Alec Pierce (heel/IR) also out last Sunday against the Texans, the Colts used a three-wide set of Laquon Treadwell, Josh Downs and Keenan Allen.

Colts' Alec Pierce: Avoids heel surgery, in rehab mode
Colts head coach Shane Steichen reiterated Monday that Pierce didn't undergo surgery on his left heel and is continuing to rehab the injury, James Boyd of The Athletic reports.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network had previously relayed last week that Pierce would avoid another procedure after aggravating his surgically repaired heel in a Sept. 20 loss to the Chiefs, but that report was called into question after the wideout was spotted Sunday moving around the Colts locker room with the aid of a scooter while he had a cast on his left foot. Apparently, Pierce is using the cast for extra protection and using the scooter to keep weight off the injured foot, which he hopes will accelerate the healing process. Pierce is without a timeline to return to game action, but he'll have to miss at least three more contests after landing on injured reserve over the weekend.

Colts' Josh Downs: Garners 11 targets in victory
Downs caught five of 11 targets for 77 yards during Sunday's 19-17 win over Houston.
Downs garnered the most targets on the team, narrowly edging out tight end Tyler Warren (10), while his 77 receiving yards led the way for Indianapolis. With Alec Pierce (heel) sidelined for the foreseeable future, Downs appears to have taken command as the team's No. 1 option at wide receiver. Over three games to open the regular season, the wideout has reeled in 14 of 24 targets for 186 yards, and he'll have a strong chance to secure his first touchdown of the season in Week 4 against the Commanders.

Colts' Keenan Allen: Secures touchdown in win
Allen caught six of nine targets for 63 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 19-17 win over the Texans.
Allen was able to take advantage of the absence of Alec Pierce (heel) in Week 3, matching his season-high six receptions while notching his first touchdown of the year in the second quarter, reeling in a six-yard score from quarterback Daniel Jones. With Pierce set to miss extended time, Allen will have a chance to carve out a significant role for himself as a reliable option for Indianapolis.

Colts' Spencer Shrader: Makes four field goals in Week 3 win
Shrader made all four of his field-goal attempts while connecting on his lone extra-point try during the Colts' 19-17 win over the Texans on Sunday.
It looked like Shrader was going to observe Sunday's contest from the sidelines after he sustained a groin injury during pregame warmups. However, Shrader was cleared to attempt a field goal in the first quarter, and two of his four made field goals came from 50-plus yards, including a 53-yarder with 19 seconds left in the fourth quarter to give the Colts their first win of the season. Shrader has made all eight of his field-goal attempts (including three from 50-plus yards) and six of seven extra-point tries through the first three games of the regular season.

Colts' Tyler Warren: Career-high nine catches in win
Warren caught nine of 10 targets for 55 yards and added a two-yard run in Sunday's 19-17 win over the Texans.
Warren failed to score a touchdown for the first time this season but set a new career high in catches while seeing plenty of involvement as a pass catcher in the absence of wide receiver Alec Pierce (ankle), who was placed on IR after exiting early in the Week 2 loss to Kansas City. The second-year tight end is poised to maintain a prominent role when the Colts travel to London to face the Commanders in Week 4.

Colts' Daniel Jones: Overcomes three TOs in Week 3 win
Jones completed 24 of 36 passes for 235 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's 19-17 win over the Texans. He also rushed three times for five yards and fumbled three times, losing two.
Jones led the Colts to their first win of the season despite the absence of wide receiver Alec Pierce (ankle), who was placed on IR earlier in the week. Tyler Warren (nine), Keenan Allen (six) and Josh Downs (five) accounted for 20 of Jones' 24 completions, including a six-yard touchdown pass to Allen in the second quarter. Ball security has been an issue for Jones, who has three interceptions and two lost fumbles through three games, but the Colts finally have something to feel good about, having notched their first win since Week 10 of last season ahead of a Week 4 trip across the pond to face the Commanders in London.
